 Re: Blaze vs Bruce
Bruce, by a long long long long loooooonnnnngggggg way.
Blaze's stuff ranges from bad to downright awful. I don't understand the love for Wolfsbane: They were dreadful.

 Re: Blaze vs Bruce
I would rather listen to Bruce solo. Then Samson, only heard Head Tactics, not that bad.

 Re: Blaze vs Bruce
Samson need to be filed next to Flotsam and Jetsam in the 'bands-nobody-would-give-a-fuck-about-if-they-hadn't-produced-a-really-successful-musician-that-went-on-to-far-better-things' category.

Bruce for Accident Of Birth and Chemical Wedding. Though I do love some of Blaze's solo stuff.

 Re: Blaze vs Bruce
Blaze's solo work is intense and personal in a way that Bruce's isn't. However, the 'personal' is what gets Blaze into trouble on many occasions.
Either way, nothing he released compares to 'Chemical Wedding', but i'd say a few of his solo albums are just as good as Accident, and they are better than the rest of Dicko's albums.
I'd rather listen to King Of Metal than Skunkworks.

 Re: Blaze vs Bruce
I like Skunkworks.
It was also a sensible move for that period of time, trying something a bit new rather than just doing metal at a point when that genre was floundering. Unfortunately Bruce just has a distinctive metal voice, so he couldn't really go 'just rock'. I thought Accident was a bit cheesy at the time as he'd moved into some interesting stuff, but with hindsight Accident and Chemical are some of his better solo stuff.
I'm a total Bruce fan-boy though, so I like all his solo stuff, even the terrible first one.

The first two are great more like-in fact i think i prefer No Place For Disgrace.Everything after is 3 fists at best.Flotsam and Annihilator are the most consistently disappointing bands of the last 20 years-when you consider how brilliant both bands' first two records are.

 Re: Blaze vs Bruce
His new album has been very well received overall though.
I lost touch with Blaze after King of Metal.

Solaris wrote: Samson. I've heard bits & pieces of Wolfsbane (and saw them live, supporting Maiden in 1990) and they were OK. Haven't heard any Blaze solo stuff, the Bruce solo stuff I have heard didn't do anything for me (Tattooed Millionaire (1/5) & The Chemical Wedding (2/5)) but anything I've heard by Samson was pretty good. You think CW is 2/5?
