Grand Declaration Of War is Mayhem's finest hour, so I obviously went for that. Damned In Black and Midian were OK, so they got nods. Nothing else there interests me.

Immortal (even though it's pretty meh), Gehenna and Myrkskog (although both of those are more like Death Metal).

2000 was a bloody weak year for black metal. It wasn't a great year for metal in general really.

No 5 fisters in that bunch, there are barely any 4's. Were Myrkskog even black metal? I thought they were death metal with some BM influences? I get them confused with Zyklon, for obvious reasons. They haven't released an album since the early 00's.

I'm voting for Mayhem, COF and Enslaved.

I'm glad it's not just me Stat Rad.

PS, I'm sorry I called you an elitist knob-head.

Myrkskog are a mix of black and death. Prob more death in there but certainly far more BM than Venom
Behemoth is far more dm but if I didn't include them someone would moan!

Venom have more black metal in their little toes than those Myrkskog homos could ever dream of.

Cradle (4)and Borknagar (3), I've not heard most of the list. Is Mardraum the begining of Enslaved going prog?

Weakling Enslaved Negura are all 5 fists. Mardraum is prob where they started to incorporate wider influences. Not as prog as Isa or Vertabrae were

I just thought I'd mention that Incipit Satan is a load of old shite. And also that Behexen is the best on this list.
