Post Best BM album 2004
A lot of albums released this year, so some bands which would have been worthy of a mention don't even make the list eg Cruachan, Manatheren, Spektr, Drowning the Light, Loits, Angantyr, Bewitched, Urfaust, Throne of Katrsis etc

Ludicra - Another Great Love Song.

From the list Marduk, Aura Noir and Chimera - a very underrated Mayhem album.

The Ruins Of Beverast and 1349 easily. Both of their first three albums are nothing short of eesential.

Marduk, Deathspell Omega, and Darkthrone. The Aura Noir and Mayhem ones are right up there. So is Anaal Nathrakh

Aura Noir, that's about it. The Anaal Nathrakh didn't do much for me TBH.

Loads of great albums here. Ruins of Beverast, Nokturnal Mortum and Kroda just edge it.

Deathspell Omega should be ahead by a huge distance. Surely people haven't forgotten how much it changed the scene at the time?

People rave about it but I preferred the followup. For me it's their magnum opus.

Did it do it immediately? I was only aware of the from Fas Ite onwards, I can here their influence in all sorts of bands even nowadays, more on DM than BM.

Yep. It was the album that kind of put me off them to be honest.

Not a great year overall. I'd probably go for Ruins of Beverast, Enslaved and perhaps Mayhem. or Rotting Christ. or 1349.
