The Bronx vs Sick Of It All
I'm generally unsure if the popularity of either band on this forum but I thought I'd put this one out there.

Re: The Bronx vs Sick Of It All
I've never heard a note by The Bronx but Sick Of It All are one of the few hardcore bands worth listening to. Generally excellent, I reckon they'd be hard to top.

Re: The Bronx vs Sick Of It All
SOIA sound is closer to traditional hardcore punk where as TB have a more Alternative twist to it, I can see why SOIA just might dominate this one pretty early.

Sick of it all vs agnostic front would be a far better poll

Yep, SOIA vs. AF, both veterans for a bit longer than Madball have been around.

I've never liked them. SOIA > Madball > AF.

Re: The Bronx vs Sick Of It All
Have to abstain as I have never properly listened to either, but the fact is, NYHC in general does very little for me, whereas I've heard people comparing the Bronx (Why are they called that? They're from LA) to Rocket From The Crypt, whom I love, so it's possible I'd be leaning toward voting for them.

Who the fuck are The Bronx
Been a fan of Sick of it All for years, they are really the only hardcore band I like. Can handle a bit of AF and Madball though.

Re: The Bronx vs Sick Of It All
Never heard The Bronx, but Sick of It All and Madball are both pretty consistent bands.
I have a stronger connection with Madball--Set It Off blew me away in 1994---but I spent a lot of time in my teens listening to Scratch The Surface and Built To Last too.

Re: The Bronx vs Sick Of It All
There is no fucking way in any universe than Madball is better than AF.
AF wrote the rulebook and their early albums was up their with Cro Mags (before they went shit) and both of them were better than SOIA
However, AF went metalcore and kinda lost it whereas SOIA have been consistent.
Still, I always reach for One Voice/Just Look Around more than anything else

Re: The Bronx vs Sick Of It All
I've only heard one Cro Mags album (Age Of Quarrel) and didn't think much of it. All I could think was how Machine Head's cover of Hard Times sounded so much better than the original. I also thought the same about both Fear Factory's and Hatebreed's covers of AF's Your Mistake, incidentally. The originals just sounded weak in comparison, even allowing for differences in production budgets.

Re: The Bronx vs Sick Of It All
Madball are pretty fucking good bro. They updated the AF sound for the 90's and added a cool hip-hop element that worked well.

Re: The Bronx vs Sick Of It All
okay, two posts of absolute palm facing wrongness
Cro-Mags Age of Quarrel/Best wishes are fucking awesome. end of. No comparison.
Madball were always AF also rans. Don't get me wrong, I liked Madball but there is no way their best album can even stand up to AF up until and including One Voice.

Re: The Bronx vs Sick Of It All
This is a complete mis-match: SOIA are THE finest hardcore band to have ever existed, and I'm not sure I'd even call The Bronx "hardcore".
Having said that, I do like The Bronx, but they pale into insignificance compared to SOIA.
Agnostic Front and Madball were OK, although I preferred "Set it Off" to anything AF ever did. Allegedly, both have some pretty dodgy politics, but I'm not sure how accurate that is, so I won't use it against them.

Just listened to The Bronx, what a pile of wank. next you'll want to put Green Day, Good Charlotte, Offspring up against Discharge.
