The first crossover between the Goths & Metallers was these 2.

I voted for THE BAND THAT EVERYBODY INCLUDING MYSELF IS SICK TO FUCKING DEATH OF HEARING ABOUT because I've only got a passing interest in COF. I can take or leave them in general, though I enjoy sticking them on when I'm in the mood. THE BAND THAT EVERYBODY INCLUDING MYSELF IS SICK TO FUCKING DEATH OF HEARING ABOUT have two or three albums that I quite enjoy, even if I've overplayed them over the years, whereas I wouldn't be the least bit bothered if I never heard COF again.

Innit! Maybe KJ had something to do with it but that time they werent metal. Bands like 13 Candles and off course Marilyn Manson.

Type O Negative were the first band that seemed to cross over between the goths & metalheads from what I remember.

I voted Paradise Lost here pretty comfortably as I have very little interest in Cradle Of Filth.

PL though Dusk was the best album either band released. COF have been terrible since Midian, while I've enjoyed bits and pieces of PLs more recent albums.

WTF has one got to do with the other? PL v Anathema V MDB is one thing...

anyhow whilst I love the first 3 PL albums and like the 4th, I've gone CoF as their last album was one of the best releases last year and their first 5 releases (including V Empire) are essential

2017's Cradle effort was superior to Medusa imo.

I disagree although neither had much appeal to me to be honest.

PL. Only for the demos and first 2 albums, which ruled. After that, they can fuck off. COF are shite. And that's mainly due to Dani's insufferable vocals. I'm only posting on this cos I'm bored off my arse...

Medusa was fucking boring. Couldn't be arsed with the COF.

COMING UP SOON: PL VS BLACK SABBATH

In all seriousness, I like some of the atmosphere of the early CoF stuff from what I've heard, but in the end it's not really my thing. Dani Filth's vocals have grown on me over time, so they're not really the problem for me anymore. I'll go with the other band.

In terms of overall career, definitely PL, but COF were more exciting in their prime.
