I agree that Redeemer definitely isn't as good as Angel. Yes it has some faster songs or whatever, but they just aren't as well written. When I first heard Judas Rising I almost thought it was the second coming or something. It knocked me on my fucking ass.

I do really like Battle Cry and Halls of Valhalla though.

This is the bottom line. How RID fits into Priest's "development" or what came before or after it are just sidenotes. The drum sound and cover version aside, it simply has some absolute monster songs.
