Looks horrible, is there an option to go back to the previous one?

Solaris what in particular looks horrible? Also I will look into whether you can choose a specific skin.

There may still be a few bugs with the skin.

I'm not keen on the way it looks at all, it's not very easy on the eye. Also there doesn't seem to be a quote option on people's posts. It does seem to be running faster but it's not the most welcoming layout.

The skull icons for the threads aren't great, it would be better if the new post/read icons where a bit more distinct from each other.

The background colour is terrible. The EW pic behind that is a bit silly, too.
No quote/edit/delete etc. options.
Avatars on the wrong side.

There was nothing wrong with the old skin, IMO. I'm not having a go for the sake of it, by the way, fair play for trying something new, but it was this kind of thing that was the beginning of the end for the last forum.

Is it too dark, to busy? I will look into the quote bit as well.

Would more colour in the icons be better and more variety then?

I just need as much productive feedback as possible.

In my opinion the site is way too busy, it's kind of a visual bombardment at the moment. The shade of red you've picked is a bit too much and is kind of difficult to look at for any length of time. I agree that the EW pic is unnecessary and distracting. The lack of quote/delete/edit buttons is a serious oversight and should be the first thing you sort out. And the avatars should be on the left. Simple is better, especially for attracting new users. It's a bit of a ball ache making posts at the moment and that will put people off.

What is the thinking behind the change? I didn't think there was anything wrong with old layout (the site was a bit slow but I think that's more of a server issue).

Apart from the usual things mentioned I think the EW background is a bit distracting.

Bonuses are it's much quicker. I know the tez colour scheme is mostly red and such but it might be better to have the colour people post on a dark grey like before. I can see it fine but if I stare too long it does sort of blur the words together.

I will re-enable the old skin and work on what you guys said.

The new skin was mainly to fit in with the Terrorizer blog and to be more up to date.

I think if the avatar/names are flipped to the left and the quote/edit/delete function is back in it's mostly fixed. The colour scheme is a good idea, and perhaps having a colour blind mode available in skin options would be good for some people too.

I think the EW thing is a moot point for the most part, it's just an easy target.

Sound. By the way, is it just me or is the Terrorizer/magazine site itself running extremely slow?

Also, if you do update the board layout again can you use something other than the skulls as forum/topic markers? They're a bit naff and they look a bit pixily compared to everything else. Maybe use the Tez 'T' as a forum/topic marker.

Oh, and it might be worth using the same colour scheme as this old layout, it's a lot easier on the eye. If you change the mass of red in the main text area to this grey scheme and sort out the issues with the buttons/avatars I think it will be pretty usable. Maybe find a much simpler background image and it would probably be wise to not use a picture of a band as that's bound to divide people.

Okay guys the old skin is back on now.

Like I said I will take on board what you said and work on the skin.

The new skin is made up of far less images, so this should be the reason why it is faster.

Thanks for your input and speedy responses.

The EW pic is beside the point, though, it's just the main site's background, I presume it was a magazine cover lately? Something less specific would be better, a border/design or summat.

Ah, but surely the collective "euurrgghh" from the users would be a bit of a pointer to those "above" (and the fact the skin went back to original quick smart based on the responses shows that there was some element of being listened to)...

I agree with majority of the points, think Avatars/name tags work better on the left as you read left to right and easier to know who's said what would be why, and think the dark gray is a lot easier to read on than a red/bright colour which didn't sit too well with my peepers
