Alright;

If you haven't noticed, the forum is currently getting bombarded by spambots.

The reason, I can only assume, is because people click on the thread. This shows up as traffic to the spambot and causes it and other spambots to spam more on here.

Therefore, the Final Spambot Solution - this type of board can never have a 100% effective spam filter so the easiest thing is to not click on them. Ignore them. Do not acknowledge they exist.

Same with spambot posts in current threads as well. If you see one and a mod hasn't removed either a thread or post, PM one of us and we'll get on with it next time we're on here.

Together we can crack it, people.

I put it down to the recent modifications behind the scenes, some kind of drop in security as it has been happening a lot more recently. I'm not sure clicking on or replying to said threads makes any difference. We'll soon find out though, as everyone will now comment on them after your stern warning. I've deleted loads, by the way.

Don't worry, Was, you're noticed too. Bless.

It's the threat to the forums, Was. The new designer bloke has opened up Pandora's Box when he started playing around with the forum code and the box smells like Bucket's boxers after a night on the bong. I could never be stern enough!

There's been a bit of a recent surge on a few other forums too, but nothing quite like this. It would suggest that something has happened behind the scenes, I've noticed some tinkering on here recently. If someone's working on the board there's a good chance they might have accidentally turned off some of the security features.

Are there three mods here? I suggest 8hr shifts so the rest of us don't have to put up with the bots.

I elect you trc to be the fourth mod then, and expect your tenure to be noted for extreme vigilance regarding cheese related postings.
