Post Advice wanted from the metal elite
Basically, I'm 17 years old and in 6th year at secondary school. It's nearly Christmas and I'm a bit skint, but I'm considering getting a subscription to Terrorizer. I've never bought the mag before but I've been following the facebook page and it's let me in on a lot of good shit. I've read Kerrang before and it was way too full of emo shite, and Metal Hammer is ok apart from the Disturbed and New Found Glory types that find their way in every other week (the only section I consistently read is the Death/Black/Grind themed "Subterreanea" bit, and I was looking for a full magazine in the same vein). My mates warned me that Terrorizer is "full of elitist wankers", but they're the ones that sit about listening to Steel Panther and Airbourne while I'm into Behemoth and Pig Destroyer.

My question is this: What do I do?

Not sure who the metal elite are but I would suggest you try and find a copy of Terrorizer to look at before you take the plunge.
Or get a shop to order it in for you, then you can see how you get on with it.

You commit suicide with immediate effect.

How'd you do, I'm the metal elite, pleased to meet you!

Go for it, why not. The mag basically has lots of pointers towards good shit, always has.

Any chance it's that Metal Hammer has become the less edgy Terrorizer? Given that Tegs was covering all MH's new favourite bands when MH was busy pushing Pist.On and The Verve? And that MH is now full of ex-Tegs alumni who are just expressing their long-held and informed opinions to a lower reading age?

It's not elitist but they are wankers. :D Elitism is good anyway. It's a preference for the refined over the dull. A good thing.

Subscribe to the mag IGWT. It's good.

No one has 'friends who listen to Steel Panther'. Fool.

And yes, Terrorizer is elitist without a doubt. And as you like Behemoth (who aren't exactly all that undeground are they) I would say stick with Subterannea. But then I'm a bitter, twisted ex-tez subscriber, who wants the magazine back how it was in the good old days... so you'd probably be better off ignoring me.

No. No, it's not. It's covering a part of the market that Metal Hammer, etc. doesn't. That's all.

That isn't what makes it elitist. But we've been through this 100 times and I'm bored with repeating myself.

I......I have a friend who listens to Steel Panther. They play every Monday at the House of Blues and he frequently attends. I'll leave the hall now.
