FF use click tracks, even when not recording shows. To keep the keyboards/samples etc in time as much as anything else I think.

 Re: 211
yeah lotsa bands use clicks live, mostly as Steve says when syncing to samples - seen Xerath, Equilibrium and Dream Theater recently all using clicks. And i can't believe that OCR don't use click tracks when recording! unless you're recording live (as a whole band) that is making things a whole heap more difficult...yeah, most modern DAWs can extract a tempo map but it's making work for yourselves!

We used clicks during keyboard and guitar breaks, as there are no drums, but other than that no. I just played the guitar riffs into his headphones and he drummed along lol. All sections started with a click so we came in at the same time, but then the click was turned off as soon as we were in. We tried the click thing and hated it.

The Black Dahlia Murder use clicks live, I assume most bands with precise recordings do.

Out of curiosity WAS, what kind of music are/were you happiest playing? Given what we know of your past career, it's quite varied - big difference beteewn COF, ENT, TBD, December Moon, Deinonychus, Vero etc. Were any of those 'jobs' or were they all played for the love of it?

 Re: 211
Were you into the music or the touring experience? Both? Sounds like the latter. Given the choice, and if you were playing now, what kind of music would you be involved in? Sorry, nosy & that.

 Re: 211
Oh right, I didn't know you were getting back into it. I remember you saying (ages ago) that you'd dug out the pads, or something along those lines, good that you're doing it 'properly' again.
Is it ever a case of playing for the hell of it? I was in a few bands when I was a kid, I loved playing (extremely badly) and even though it was generally covers, it was good fun messisng about with 'the lads'.

Professional to the end! Has to be done. Got to be a buzz, knowing that there'll be an album out there with your name on it, after a fair gap like.

Listening to Deinonychus now. It's also the name of a dinosaur, that made me happier than it should have done.

Moses The Prophet wrote: I hate Alex Van Halen's style. Too slapdash and almost sloppy at times. Of course, it suits the sound of the band, and we wouldn't have it any other way, but he still winds me up. I don't mind him, I think within the context of what they do, at least early on, he is a perfect fit. I like his enthusiasm and energy, and the fact the songs ended faster than they started, the whole live feel of the older stuff. He's certainly not my favourite drummer. The quote is just something I associate with the word click and click tracks, just from hearing the intro.

On a positive note Fear Candy 95 is one of the best Fear Candys I've heard for a while.
