Are the Rot In Hell/Hang The Bastard articles any good?

Both in "Choice Cuts", so half a page each, I think if I remember rightly.
I skim read as they're not my cuppa, really

Some of the reviews are printed on a white background It makes the mag look shit but at least I can read them without a spotlight

 Re: 211
What have they done to the magazine? The last two issues were very good, but in this one we get "The Wizards Sack", big 4 top trumps (Shredability? Fucking sex appeal?) sidebars about smack, a Rob Zombie poster and Joey "black metal lives in my heart" Jordison. Terrible. Fucking sort it out Tez, leave that shit to Mental Hamster. I know you need to sell issues to survive, but whats the point of two magazines doing that shit? Maybe if I was 12 with a short attention span I would enjoy it.
As for the Dark Recollections about 'Peace Sells...' surprise surprise, Mustaine is talking about smack and we hear how he is a changed man. Again. Fucking nothing about the music. And Lars Ulrich saying it has "a special place in the history of hard rock" (or haaawrd raaawwk as he might pronounce it) HEAVY METAL Lars. No wonder you can't play it anymore, you can't even say it. Cunt.
2 fist issue.

 Re: 211
Had a good flick through the mag last night. Mostly it was fine, but I was a little confused about the Joey interview. I thought, given his background that it may be an interesting read, but by the end I realised he's a massive whinging git. We've all lost people and "been through shit" but why does the music industry need to hear about it? I'd have preferred to read about his times with Satyricon a bit more tbh...
Still, haven't read much more of the mag yet so I'm not going to dismiss the whole thing as garbage, cos it probably isn't much different to usual

 Re: 211
The layout is VERY Metal Hammer though...
I agree with a lot of what The Wretch has to say about this issue. The last 3 or 4 had been very promising, almost looked and felt like Tez of old, then "WHAMMY!": it's Metal Hammer's twin mag!

 Re: 211
Oooof that's a low blow Steev!
I must admit, the layout didn't concern me in the slightest. Things get bland if they stay the same for ever.
Content is the important thing, and it seems to be to be perfectly as per normal, with the exception of that effing JJ interview....

 Re: 211
I actually don't mind the new layout, it's much cleaner in most parts, could do with tweaking in others.

I gather Louise was on the piss with them at Hellfest so I'm sure they'll make an appearance.

 Re: 211
like the new layout, but content was rubbish this month. oh, and the new MA got 4/5...wtf? anyhow, i agree the last couple were better. at least there was no Swedish 'true' heavy metal bands in this month...oh wait, it was Katana (who?) filling that slot...

Is there a large advert for it anywhere in the magazine?

 Re: 211
I think last issue's cover and main interview might answer your question...
