I always loved Morbid Tales, the guitar sound is so sick, and the whole thing sounds so wrong. The first time I heard it, it was one of those WTF??? moments, like 'Megalomania', or Hell Awaits, or 'Tupelo', or Hank Williams doing 'Ramblin Man', y'know, "somethings not quite right here" but you can't stop listening.

ABORT: Eparistera Daimones has an
exceptionally satanic bent to the lyrical
content…

TW: No it doesn’t. That’s fucking
bullshit.

ABORT: …SEEMINGLY more so
than prior offerings. Is this indicative
of…

TW:Name one. Name one track, before
I answer this question. That’s fucking
bullshit. Name ONE fucking satanic
aspect on this album.

ABORT:- Aren’t the opening lyrics to
Goethals satanic?

TW: No, they’re not. The song is completely
against religion, in any kind of
form, whether it’s positive Christian
or satanic or whatever you have, Islamic…
It’s a song that makes fun of
the pathetic human need for religion.
Read the lyrics- they’re so pathetically
sarcastic. You really think I would go
out onstage every night saying ‘Satan,
father, savior’? How helpless would I
be?

...and Warrior is a native English speaker.:)

From Amazon:

Some notes from the author... January 26, 2002
By Jeremias Davis
I am the author of this book (Are You Morbid), and I would like to take the opportunity to thank the amazing people who posted their very flattering reviews here. It is very humbling to read your assessments of what is my first book.

A couple of notes: even though my native language is English (I am bilingual), we did utilize an English editor, and it was actually the editor who altered some of the original text and also introduced a number of mistakes. This, after his first edition of my manuscript was scrapped at my insistence, because the book had become unrecognizable to me. The English have a funny way of editing, don't they...

-------

Furthermore from Abort: "I'm not a reader, I'm a writer".:)

ABORT: You’ve authored a
book, and you’re well on record
for your writing style
when keeping fans up to
speed- with that in mind, what
have you been taking in for
reading lately?

TW: Um… Airplane magazines?

ABORT: No novels?

TW:- I hate novels, and I never read
fiction. I’m into fact only. Why would
I waste the little time I have on this
planet with reading fiction when this
world is filled with a gazillion amazing
stories from reality? The world is filled
with drama and events, in my lifetime
is not enough to learn even a fraction of
this. Why would I read fiction? I mean,
if you read about Babylonian times, or
the Roman Empire, the things that happened
there are so dramatic, no fiction
author can even match that.

ABORT: How about you guys?

Vanja: I’ve been reading Salinger.

Others: .....

TW: I’m so proud of my band.
(laughs)

ABORT: OK thanks Tom.

He's a regular human being, and he's not speaking from the high horse.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HWQmtAU ... ure=relmfu

In each subsequent interview, he's working on more and more books. Right now he's writing three autobiographies simultaneously.
He's also working on his "deathmasks", a "DVD unlike any other", and his band will play "a number of festivals and countless locations all around Europe this year, along with a full European tour yet again."

Quite a few people like the "abomination" actually, even though that's forbidden under death threat.
Like the song by S.O.D., and more.

No, you twonk, it's Geiger.

TW won't take his beany off because he's going bald and he doesn't like it. The main inspiration for his despair. He's a hipster writing dark poetry over nothing but it's even worse because he's a grown adult. Even Jacob Bannor's Wah Wah over women isn't as pathetic.

Please keep the tone polite.

I was being, of course, ironic. It should be obvious to any where Tommy got his "dark" appearance.

And like someone said, somewhere:

"Darkness and death? Please. So he took a concept already established by other bands (such as Venom and Bathory) and made music that became influential. So what? That was only in the interests of killing boredom (...)

One has to look no further than the late 80s (...) He tried to sell out back then, but no one was buying. That's why his band called it quits.

Once it became cool to be involved in Black Metal, he resurrected his old band and made another album, followed by a tour that served his massive ego more than anything. His own bandmates saw what a (...) he still was, after all this time, and the band has since been terminated."

So you're quick to judge too?

Why don't you actually tell us something about yourself? It's only polite, after all (heady to the intros thread in General Discussion).
