So it dropped through my letter box this morning, and I like to nit pick and moan about anything I can, so I here goes (almost literally) nothing.

In the Arckanum review it was implied that the band has produced nothing of worth since their 2008 'comeback'. Now I don't have an issue with the album receiving a 2/5, I've not heard it, so I can't comment, but to suggest that ÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞ was nothing special, and suggesting an album rated 2/5 is better than it is quite frankly wrong. Whilst ÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞ isn't a 5 I wouldn't say, it's certainly a strong 4 at least. There's something brilliant about how seemingly simple it is, yet how well it comes together, and how powerful it is.

Second issue is the Solstice review. Firstly they mention the singer not being very charismatic and looking a bit out of place, I would assume this is because he wasn't Sosltice's singer, it was Felipe from procession, and not actually a part of the band, and was just doing them a favour.
Perhaps London was a poor show, but a few day's later Solstice were on fire in Bradford. There was a really energy and atmosphere throughout, so much so they got called back for an encore, and for the first time in my life, I felt that it wasn't a planned encore, it was genuine. One of the best performances I've seen this year.
I guess that's the problem with live reviewing, if your reviewer only goes to one show, which if it's the worst show the band played, the general public are given the impression the band aren't great live, which often isn't the case.
That said, given the considerably better lineup in Bradford with the likes of Devil, Cruciamentum and Atlantean Kodex also playing, I'm surprised that date wasn't chosen to review.

Edit:

The Bloodstock review - Wolf it says had sound problems, other than a Lead failing, I thought they had the best sound I've heard at bloodstock for that time in the morning, and being stood so far back.
The Order is also wrong, Northern Oak played the acoustic set before Rhapsody came on, the review suggest they were on after (only a minor thing :p )
It seems to suggest 1349 were in anyway good. The sound was dire throughout, with tracks being hardly recognisable. I didn't even realise they'd finished, I was talking to someone next to me (that's how engaging they were), looked up, and they were walking of stage.

I'm looking forward to giving it a read, got plenty of bands I'm interested in.

I think it's good people air their thoughts in here too - keeping up the communal spirit an' all.

It is a point I should probably mention, there is far more I've wanted to read this month than recent months.

It's the criteria I judge it by every month, so there's always going to be a bit of an up and down.

I refuse to listen to an album that I can't even say.

I've literally copied this from another post I made on another forum.

It's a th sound, and I imagine relates to the Þurs/Þorn rune. (Þurs being something to do with giants)

Which is why there's some debate as to how to pronounce it.
is it pronounced ththththththththththth, or eleven thorns, or eleven giants, or do you just repeat either the word thorn or giant eleven times.

But then given Þorn is Old English, I wouldn't imagine with him being Swedish that would be the meaning he took. I seem to recall the Sweedes were the Goths, and there was no Gothic Furthark, so I seem to recall they reading they'd have used the Elder Futhark, meaning it's likely to be Giants rather than Thorns.

Though after a quick google it's Thurisaz (or *Þurisaz ), which Þurs is essentially short for. And it's apparently pronounced Þurisaz times eleven. Now weather or not it's intended that you say the word times, or just say Þurisaz eleven times, I'm not sure.

Wow, that's a much more detailed answer than I expected, cheers. Eleven Giants is technically the best, I suppose (it's certainly the only one that doesn't sound like someone having a stroke, but I think I prefer Giant Giant Giant Giant Giant Giant Giant Giant Giant Giant Giant. It's got more of a ring to it.

Arckanum is awesome just because I like his ideas about CHAOS ASATRUAR. Or whatever it is he peddles it as lately. Has he released his book about it yet?

I'm not sure, but after a quick google

Shamaatae is also the author of the books on Chaos-Gnosticism, Anti-Cosmic Satanism, Old Norse religion etc under the pen-name Vexior. So far the following of his books were released:
- "PanParadox: Pan Towards Chaos" released through Ixaxaar Publishing in 2009;
- "Gullveigarbók" released through Fall of Man in 2010.

Good issue but what's up with hard of hearing? The band this month Pettybone or whatever they're called got 100% even though they didn't guess all the bands and song titles correctly.

Hard of Hearing hasn't seemed that good for the last few issues at all if you ask me.
