some good points in this thread. seems to me the mag you want exists already, it's called Zero Tolerance. Not much hardcore in it but much more on underground BM, and also does the non-music stuff, and themed issues. of course it's only bi-monthly though. I still read Tez most months, but after buying every issue religiously from 1 on i've missed a few in the last year. the new reviews section is the worst thing about the mag now...

...except ZT is reeeeeeally hard to look at. Those stripy, hideously coloured pages with awful typeface. Normally I don;t care too much about that kind of thing, but ZT takes the biscuit for hideous layout.

Yep. I've flicked through ZT in the shop but it's so hideously laid out and difficult to read that I've never even considered buying it.

they've acknowledged that and changed things as of the last issue...the new Ed is Nathan T Birk who i think used to scribe for Tez a while ago..

The writing of ZT is bloated and generally is a load of waffling. Which is a shame, also the layout but if it's been fixed that's a good thing. And they also show too much BM, needs more of a balance of everything but who knows maybe it'll get there eventually!

I've got ZT once or twice, just seemed like they were trying a little too hard for my liking. I might pick it up next time I see it and see how it is now.

Problem with ZT was the reviews, badly written, overly personal and not objective enough. Somevof their writers pretty much score it solely on howvmuch they like the album rather than offer a considered opinion. However the shorter reviews in tez aren't exactly much better.

Ultimately the best magazine for me is special interests, but that is noise only, but brings back good memories of fanzine enthusiasm, written by people who know what the fuck they are talking about.

Backtracking here, but ever since I heard of this "newer" ENFORCER, I've been wanting to scream about the band of the same name from Chicago.

I've just found out that a cd version of this awesome '84 demo exists. I shall now go forth and purchase.

Question answered, turdy.

I really enjoy Sarcastic Existence; it has interesting points, well made. But "Sandwich" should never have made it past 1st April.

How about: Album reviewed by a forum member. The lucky reviewer could be chosen at random by name in a hat.

I'd be up for it. It just runs the risk of people signing up hoping to be included.

But n00bs always get treated like shit.

Who wants to be a n00b? Not me.

That's why I hide behind green sunglasses. :geek:

Oh, and I get the idea. Like have the magazine have a page which highlights the best comments made on this board. The problem would be if people wanted their comments printed in the magazine. But still, not a bad idea. Maybe just comments that were specific about something being featured in the Mag. Kind of how mags used to do a letters page.

I dunno. I'm too new to know anything.
