Post Re: Secret History of Earache
I didn't know it was out but I am guessing it is the usual rehashed interviews from 10 years ago with the occassional excerpt from a recent issue of Tez to cover Evile and Cerebral Bore?

If they genuinely took the effort to catch up with the bands featured and do a proper interview asking them to reflect and provide current insight into their best of catalogues I might be interested more.

What Turdy said. The period when Earache were interesting and meaningful has been fairly well covered elsewhere, and I have little to no interest in what they're upto right now.

I'll give you a run down...
There's several pages about how Earache started/interview with Digby
A "Best of British" feature
An interview with Shane Embury
Bolt Thrower Feature
Forest of Equilibrium, Left Hand Path, Altars of Madness feature/retrospective
Interview with David Vincent
Brand new brilliant interview with Colin Richardson about making Carcass albums
a Wicked World feature
an awesome interview with Mick Harris
A thrash revival feature
A Dig Pearson/Dan Tobin Hard of Hearing
A New Generation preview type feature
and a bunch of other stuff, but I want to go and get some lunch in a min...

Because barely anyone who posts here even reads the rag anymore.

For example, Metal Hammer last month...

We don't owe them money. That's not how it works when you leave a label.

We did, however, lose them money.

You lucky buggers! They don't sell the secret history series over here and it costs double to have them shipped over.

Those secret history things are a rip off GM. At least they are if you are a long term, regular reader.

No. It was the equivalent of about £15 here.

I bought it read it and enjoyed it but Entiwned got no mention while lesser bands such as Pulkas did. The free CD was much better than usual. Yes it was expensive and it shouldn't cost so much more than the usual Terrorizer but it was a decent read and you can't bitch and moan about money constantly.

The only one of these I bought was the black metal one. Partly because it was the only one I saw (nowhere in town sells Terrorizer anymore), partly because they're so expensive. I'd like to have read the death metal and doom ones but them's the breaks...

The death metal one in particular is really good, I'm sure there's back issues you can buy on the site if you're feeling flush.

If you wouldn't mind paying postage, you can have mine if I can find them.

Death Metal one was really good as Jimmy poured a lot of effort into making it good.
