Post Blockheads 'This World Is Dead' review (issue 232)
Dear Mr Olivier Badin,

As a French citizen and journalist following the metal scene for many years you should now it, but concerning your review of the great new Blockheads album 'This World Is Dead'...

If we can debate if their previous record, 'Shapes Of Misery', is the second or fourth album by Blockheads (if you take their two first self-releases), there is for sure no discussion that the album wasn't produced/recorded by Mieszko Talarczyk but by St├ęphane Buriez of the French death-metal band Loudblast (who will be delighted by your review). Unfortunately Mieszko died before the band started to record anything for that album.

As a long-time journalist (and in a time where there is a very useful tool to check information called internet) I'm amazed that you can still do such kind of mistakes.

Sincerely yours,
Bernard

Not shit so much as, don't people turn up to their gigs expecting to see Ian Dury's backing band?

That's what I've always wondered. It's amazing that bands don't check these things using this very useful tool for finding information called Internet.

I've always been amused by Loudblast's name too, they are pretty big in France but it's one of those lost-in-translation names that sounds a bit daft to a native English speaker. In fact it would work for that 'Extremely Minor Threat' thread we had a while ago - band names that they think sound hard or scary, but don't.

Bernard is the singer for Blockheads too I believe, if anyone's interested.

I feel so kvlt, I actually know who these guys are - and it's because I've just read a review of them in the latest Decibel. The tag line reads:

"People = shit for apocalypse-anticipating French grinders"

and it's written by that all around great guy, Kevin Stewart-Panko.
