Post Most memorable Terrorizer article for you
Inspired by a conversation that got started in the Music Forum.

Of all the issues I've read, the most memorable would be the Huntress feature. Say what you want about the band, that was the most entertaining article I've read in a very long time. I listen to music to escape reality, not to find out how technical some guy thinks his playing is from one album to the next. Reading about how Jill Janus likes to roam the forest in the nude was the kind of entertainment I miss from the metal mags I read in the 80's.

The Swans article in Terrorizer at the time of Soundtracks For The Blind's release ('95/'96?), with the announcement that they were splitting after the tour (plus the album review). In a typical example of good timing, it was the first interest I'd shown in them and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the album. I wasn't disappointed, either.

The interview.

The album review.

One of the Varg ones, mainly because he had a paddy and accused them of censorship and posted an unedited version online. I don't recall much of the actual interview really.

Thanks. I didn't see that.

But this thread is a bit more specific to Terrorizer. Being a subscriber, perhaps this thread can stay so I can see what other readers think.

The Mithras review.
Dez Fafafafafafara making a complete cunt of himself in Hard Of Hearing.
Byron from Bal-Sagoth talking about a dream he had in which he was tried by the European Court of Human Rights for crimes against humanity.
Dani Filth saying "if I was rich I would behave like Gilles de Rais".

Gilles De Reis just makes me think of Into The Crypts Of Rays. This is a very good thing indeed.

As opposed to Satanic child murder, which is generally frowned upon.

That was the most unusual article from Terrorizer. I have never before or since read an interview in Terrorizer that deliberately antagonised the interviewee.

Surely appropriate for Buzzo, though. It's just a shame that he apparently wasn't in on it and was very upset afterwards - reading it I'd assumed he was playing along.

It was a bit pointless really and there have been plenty of Melvins articles since so he can't have been too upset.
Did I mention that the Melvins are the greatest band ever?

It really pleases me to look at my Melvins collection on my shelves. The colours, the designs, everything. I bought another Melvins album yesterday and there will be a new one in November.

Everything in it's right place, on a shelf, chronological order, dusted and fingerprints cleaned from the cases.

Also:

Devin circa 'Alien''s release GOING OFF. (possibly his meds, mid-interview)

Devin circa 'The New Black''s release sounding genuinely angry and bitter and essentially telling the entire music industry to eat shit

Matt Bower of Skullflower talking about altered states and Avi asking him if he was a yogi rather than a musician

The Diamanda Galas one where she said she wanted to keep a male slave in a cage, called Yoko Ono a liar, every female alternative rock singer a "silly bitch" and Mike Patton "a little timid bastard". The thing about the man in a cage was OBVIOUSLY not serious but it led Mali on the then-forum to have a why-oh-why/shit-calling-itself-art spazz out about it.

Definitely that Mithras review. I actually felt insulted by it, particularly the bit when the reviewer said that Mithras has done something that was beyond the reach of most bands 'not just for the now but for the evermore'........

Oh and a Trivium live review from 2005/06 where the reviewer said that no matter what Matt Heafy would have done onstage even the most tr00 metal fan would have gone home to 'kiss a poster of what is shaping up the be the biggest metal band of the 21st century'.

Funny how Shallow always makes a grammar mistake when he's trying to correct somebody else's.
