That Melvins article was what came to mind for me right away. Dave MacNamee was a really good writer. He did a good feature on Boris too - that issue also had a great cover.

More recently (relatively), Avi Pitchon's article about Crass, where he somehow managed to interview pretty much everyone in the band, was really good.

Oh yeah, I remember the Diamanda debates after that Mail spazz.

Good name for a band, Mail Spazz.

Daily Mail Spazz would be better.

The Demoniac article was the funniest! Sam Totman in Paris to see the Eiffel Tower to spell 666.

The Diamanda Galas one where she said she wanted to keep a male slave in a cage, called Yoko Ono a liar, every female alternative rock singer a "silly bitch" and Mike Patton "a little timid bastard". The thing about the man in a cage was OBVIOUSLY not serious but it led Mali on the then-forum to have a why-oh-why/shit-calling-itself-art spazz out about it.

i have known at least 3 people that have met Patton and they all said the same thing. i.e weird, standoffish etc.

Memorable interviews:Swans(96), COF(1996 - Dusk....), Babylon Whores(1997), Varg Vikernes(1996).

Don't recall many interviews after Seltzer took over, even though i continued to support the mag.

Probably the Pete Sandoval one from the issue where David Nikki Sixx Vincent was bigging up the MA remix album and gay space cowboys in general. Mainly for the irony in Sandoval saying that Morbid Angel "have ran out of ideas" then releases an album of perhaps the most pedestrian and boring metal to date and having the fucking brass neck to put the 'Terrorizer' name to it.

All the Thrash articles were quality in these two issues.
Still got them too.
