I picked up Häxan and The Phantom Carriage on two for a tenner in HMV over the weekend. Quite pleased with that.

The American shirts are usually larger than our ones...Maybe the 2X would do you?
I've been wearing XL size since I was a 10-stone teenager :)

Latest purchases...

It'd fit, but I like my T-shirts nice and loose. Behemoth have odd sizes - got a 3XL from them last year that was skintight on me (after I'd lost a couple of stone too, so doubly annoying), sent it back, reasoning that if 3XL was that tight on me, 5XL would be about right. Wrong. Cost me €40, all told. Fuckers.

The Man Who Would Be King is excellent good, incidentally.

It's crackin alright, just watched it again there recently.

That Trouble shirt is the business, I might have to purchase one myself.

They have some other crackers there, the Tank and Voivod ones are very tasty.

Nice avatar, Wretch. The Unfortunate Cup Of Tea, yes? I have the original pressing of that. 8-)

Had them on tape back in the day, now that we're discussing them again, it seemed time to buy the CDs.

The very one.

I have most of their albums on vinyl apart from 'Short Stories Tall Tales' and 'Tracks From The Vaults', although I have both on the original cassettes somewhere. Mostly inherited from my aul lad, but I actually got a few from my ex's father years ago, which was about the best sign of approval I can think of.

I have them all at least twice or three times on cd at this stage, what with the Edsel and Horslips Records re-issues, along with the cheap as fuck Outlet versions from the late 80's and early 90's. They really ripped the band and fans off, although I was glad to have them on cd at the time.

Apparently my uncle went to see them a good bit years ago, which surprised me, he usually only listens to old 50's and 60's country music. I suppose their gigs would have been an event here back then, and a draw for Irish people in Britain too, so plenty of people would have gone along for the craic.

Have you seen this? It is a thing of beauty. As well as a biography there is a timeline for gigs, release dates, appearances etc, band interviews, memorabilia, loads of photos, lyric sheets and notes from the recording session etc. Definitely among the best purchases I've ever made.

No, it's one I've been meaning to pick up, along with the documentary DVD. The Ulster Hall show is another one.

Same story, I inherited most of the original albums on vinyl from my father. All in perfect nick (The Tain still his the poster!) apart from HTM...STP which has the outer 'cover'/'page' held on with sellotape. They all play perfectly, though I'll never play them again but they're lovely things to have. A few gaps: no Book Of Invasions, Tracks From The Vaults (though I remember them knocking about on tape when I was a kid), Short Stories, Tall Tales or The Man Who Built America. No Horslips Live or The Belfast Gigs either, for that matter. Plan is to pick up ther recent remasters one by one, but they're not cheap.
