Snow causes all sorts of problems for planes when it is falling. It is not what is on the ground that is a problem.

The "big freeze" lasted one day in Manchester, all the snow/ice had gone by late sunday afternoon and it's been so mild today that I turned my heating off for a couple of hours this evening.

It's actually snowing in Brighton!! For the past few days there have been teeny-tiny flakes that make your eyes go funny if you try and look at them, but now it's actually snowing!!
