The temperatures have been sub-zero here for a week or more now, but it's still bone dry. However, I did observe these icicles while on my way home the other evening:

They're a good six to eight inches long, and are hanging to one side of the door to an abandoned pub. I thought they looked all clean and wintry, right up until I hit the flash and got a look at the colour of them:

Snows too powdery to do anything with it.

I've got friends up and down the country (yes, really) reporting multiple inches of snow, but Nottingham's still dry. This is a fucking rubbish bit of the country as far as interesting weather is concerned *grumble*

I'll trade places with you. Freezing fog the last few days, the condensation on the bathroom windows is frozen, as are the pipes to the shower. Roads are lethal, paths are worse, looking like it's going to be that way for the next week, mumble grumble....

Yes, but do you have any good snow? My phone claims it's currently -7°C here, but there's no precipitation.

I have neither a bathroom window, nor anything noticeable in the way of condensation. Compared to some of the soggy hellholes I occupied before I found this apartment, I'm currently living in a palace. Heh. I might switch weather with you, but not my abode...

Damn you, sir. No snow since Friday night, but there's been fog the last few days, so what's on the ground has just built up over that time. A couple of inches, and not all frozen hard.

Snow is forecast here for about 2am tomorrow morning. I doubt I'll be waking up to the Fimbulvetr, however.

It snowed and then rained last night so the snow has a nice icy sheet on it. Good for snowballs!

All the snow from the last session is still very firmly on the pavements... and now it's snowing like a motherfucker.

We've had no snow for weeks here and now everywhere else is melting it has started to snow. I fear my trip to Newcastle tomorrow will have to be called off.
