Re: Your favourite horror movie (and sub genres)
It's sad that many are under the impression that Friday The 13th is a 'classic' horror film. It's bloody ass crack!

Yeah, I thought the original was crap, hence not bothering with any of the sequels (the other one I saw I watched in a mate's house).
The sequels are better in my opinion as Jason's character develops a bit more and they ramp up the slightly tongue in cheek bits until by around 5 they hit the ground running as entertaining horror.
I like the first one, but I watch it the least.
Freddy Vs Jason is also amazing.

V is my favourite. That's the one where it balances the fine line between being decent and being a comedy. VIII is hilarious, especially the boxing bit.

VII is the worst in the series. X is pretty bad too

X has some redeeming features, in that it's crap to the point of being quite funny at times, but VII is definitely my least favourite too.

Just watched Sharknado. It's shit, in quite an entertaining way. No where near as good as Zombeavers, which was really funny whilst being crap.

I preferred it to the first one, though both are pretty funny.

Re: Your favourite horror movie (and sub genres)
I've already mentioned this before, but Sharknado and films of that ilk are really terrible to me, and not remotely in the way that is intended either. They seem like films made by frat boys who have no understanding of how to make Z-grade films. No idea of what makes them so appealing.

Re: Your favourite horror movie (and sub genres)
That's why they're quite funny. They aren't even attempts at being b-movie homages, they're just what the people who make them find funny. Trying to even vaguely view them as even decent films is missing the point. Something like Hatchet is almost a spoof at the genre, but Sharknado is just silly fun.

no, they are poorly made pieces of shit made by 'ironic' fucktards. Troma know what they're doing. Those Sharknado fucktards are totally clueless
