Re: Your favourite horror movie (and sub genres)
LincolnPark wrote: It FollowsAbsolutely loved this. Everything about it is great. The story is a bit different to the usual. This keeps it interesting. The soundtrack is perfect. It sounds like a Dario Argento score mixed with some classic 80s horror movie. I really liked the main character of the movie and I do think there is enough about this to have a sequel. Has anyone else seen it? Yeh I seen it, fascinating plot and a good film 4.5\5

It certainly had the makings of it in the first half an hour, but no. Not even close. US Horror films of the past 10 years more enjoyable OR more original than It Follows (in no order): The Mist The Devil's Rejects House of the Devil The Exorcism of Emily Rose Hostel Hostel 2 The Hills Have Eyes Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon Hatchet Trick 'r Treat Wrong Turn 2 Drag Me To Hell The Thing You're Next American Mary The Cabin in the Woods Maniac The Lords of Salem The Bunny Game The Green Inferno You can even add horror/comedies to that if you like. Tucker and Dale vs Evil Piranha 3D Zombieland Feast Grindhouse

I really don't like horror films as a rule but I did watch Dead Snow last night and chortle quite a bit

How can I put this politely? For a good percentage of the movies you've mentioned there. you're talking complete bollocks.

Re: Your favourite horror movie (and sub genres)
Yet all still perfectly correct choices for films better than It Follows. The beach/hut scene, the old man on the roof, and that utterly laughable swimming pool ending that made no sense at all? I know. Let's shoot the invisible ghost thing and try to electrocute it too. Because that makes perfect fucking sense. Sorry, but It Follows was a good idea for half an hour and then it fell apart quicker than the Liverpool back four.

Re: Your favourite horror movie (and sub genres)
Yes movies like Wrong Turn 2 are classics. I forgot. Did you actually watch any of those movies or were you asleep in your newspaper? A lot of the movies you put down aren't original. Some are even remakes. The vast majority are just failed rip offs of other better movies. I'm surprised you didn't throw in the last Friday the 13th or Prom Night. Sad times. I'd stick to Slayer. You seem to know what you're talking about there.

Look at my post. No. LOOK at it. Properly.
I said enjoyable OR original.
Wrong Turn 2 may not be anywhere close to original, but it's 100% more entertaining than It Follows.

Re: Your favourite horror movie (and sub genres)
I think you might need to look 'enjoyable' up in the dictionary. Wrong Turn 2 is awful and not even in a funny way. The best one in the series was the first and that was rubbish too.

Re: Your favourite horror movie (and sub genres)
That's all entirely subjective of course. I thoroughly enjoyed every ridiculous moment of WT2. Henry Rollins>>>>>>>invisible sex ghost.

Re: Your favourite horror movie (and sub genres)
If your argument is Henry Rollins being better then Henry Rollins is better than most things in most movies. This is because he's Henry Rollins. It doesn't mean he's a good actor or its an enjoyable or good movie.
And of course its subjective but judging on IMDB, the majority are with me.

Oh sorry, I forgot its not cool to use general consensus especially when backed with your own opinion. I guess that's why you love all the shite Slayer albums.

This one? I remember liking it when it first came out but I have no idea how well/badly it's aged since then.

Thirteen Ghosts was good, except the shitty CGI machine at the end.
