This morning French diplomats branded David Cameron 'impossible to side with' over his spontaneous but rightful opposition to Jean-Claude "the ultra-federalist" Juncker being appointed President of the European Union and even though it came from the French, they're completely right.

Even Angela Merkel spanked Cameron on this issue and the problem is that David Cameron couldn't foresee this coming, many others have just not Cameron. The Tory party has a lot of talent only David Cameron is not one. If he wants to save a bit of dignity his next step ought to be to put his foot down and press forward a referendum on Europe because with Juncker in power the Eurocrats have little grounds for an 'In' argument.
