Yes I'd recommend it Fhil! Eitehr on XBL arcade or steam, it's cheap eitherway and totally worth the little cash it's worth.

I'm going to get it on Steam tonight based on your recommendation. Also, I've never finished a GTA game and I have all of them. I can't stick to the game, I have to be reminded to stay on track.

I can buy Doom 3 for PC for £1.88 on Amazon, it says platform XP - will it work on Windows 7?

Should do if you right click and set to run it as XP service pack 2.

I think the internal graphics card for my laptop is 1.8(ish) gb - how do I find out and will Doom 3 run on this? I assume it's not enough for WoW or games like that?

Click the Start menu button at the bottom left put in the search box "dxdiag" run it and it will tell you your computer specs. Paste here and I will tell you. Since it's a new laptop it could probably run World of Warcraft which was specifically designed to run on lower end systems (Another reason why it's the biggest and most profitable game ever made among the many.).

It should run Doom 3 which came out in like 2004.

I can't copy and paste, and I don't have an online photo account to post a screen shot here, there are also five tabs of info. What would the correct info look like, I can't see anything that looks like it relates to graphics.

you can use imageshack.us to host images for free without an account.

But what I need to know is in the System tab, and the display tab.

For example mine is as follows:

Operating system: Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @2.4Ghz (4 CPUs)
Memory: 2048 RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11 (Don't worry about this it gets upgraded automatically with games and such)

Display Tab:
Name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Chip Type: GeForce 8800 GT
Approx total memory: 1267 MB

I omitted the things I didn't need to know. So you do the same and I'll tell you if you can run it!

It is and you should be able to play Doom 3 with that, and WoW too, but probably not too many modern games because of it being an onboard card rather than say an Nvidia or ATI card.

Green: Hush. Too reduce the whole medium of gaming to that is pretty crappy. :P If you want hard puzzle/platformers then you should check out the indie developers hosted on Steam. Xbox Live arcarde and the Playstation Network.

There's plenty of stupid things like Eggs.

Goo.
Zombies vs Plants.
Loco Roco
Controlling an army of little black squidges by keeping in time with a ridiculous beat.
A squat fat victorian man who wants to devour all the pies throughout history using time travel.
