^^yeah, it's not really a documentary, more of a non-narrative film, although it's often classed as a 'documentary'.

Guns, Germs and Steel, a companion piece to the book so worth watching even if you've read it. There was a 2-hour version of it, or a TV series that was 6 one-hour episodes, and that's the one that's on Youtube I think. It's an explanation of why Europeans conquered other parts of the world, rather than Africans conquering Europe for example. The basic idea is that what crops grow in a particular area determine most other things. The book is one of the few that changed the way I think about the world, so obviously I'd recommend it.

I imagine he is something of a loner by choice, but he is supposedly friendly enough with the guys in bands like Aura Noir and Old, and his hiking buddies. He has a bird too I think.

Can't be arsed looking for it, but a mate recently made me watch a terrifying documentary about an American "Juggalo" festival. Worth a watch for sheer horror/cultural-snob-porn alone.

I discovered yesterday that you can watch documentaries on the National Geographic website.

I watched one on rage, which was about a gene which can cause anger, and had Henry Rollins on it, and another one on trying to identify the bodies of two saints from around 300ad.

They were talking about Morris' new doc on Kermode and Mayo's film podcast, which sounds great, but I haven't seen it yet. It reminded me of this one though is really excellent.
