hmm as a Utd fan we were unlucky to score 86 goals, get 85 points, have the best defense and still lose the league, especially given we lost two goalscorers in the summer (Tevez and Ronaldo) and at one point this season (against Fulham) had Carrick and Fletcher in the back 4...a game we lost 3-0...still well done Chelsea, to have 4 games in which you score 7+ goals and beat all the other 'big 4' means you deserve to be champions (i won't mention the fact Chelsea appear to have a unique offside law all to themselves...)

As per usual I'm the only one who cares but that was cricket excellence last night. What a way to stuff the South Africans and KP's innings were a masterclass in aggressive batting.
And before that NZ beating Pakistan by one run and down to the last ball...
Just a shame that to beat the South Africans we need South Africans though.
Absolutely, collingwood is the only english batsman in the top order which makes the whole thing a joke, but to witness the animosity between KP and Smith more than makes up for it.

Glasgow Celtic should employ Neil Lennon as their next manager.

Can anyone explain to me why the Scottish Premier League doesn't just do away with all the teams except Celtic and Rangers and be done with it? I mean it's a two horse race every season isn't it?

As a Celtic fan who used to go all over Scotland watching them I'd miss going to Fir Park, Tynecastle and Tannadice – Pittodrie too. Sure, the football is becoming more, umm, awful, but it was part of growing up as a football fan in Scotland so what can you do? I've had some of the best afternoons of my life going to these grounds – which probably reflects badly on how I spend my afternoons.
If you think heart disease is bad in Scotland now, a two team Old Firm league would be like signing the papers to genocide. Those games raise the blood pressure like nothing else. No thanks.
Besides, Spain is the new Scotland, or so Sid Lowe says.

Looks like South Africa are about to inexplicably choke.

Correction: South Africa did choke. This pleases me, now if we can finish off NZ tonight for a bit of a show...

I got a taste of the passion when I lived in Edinburgh some years ago. I knew a few Hibs fans (the Edinburgh version of Celtic I believe?) - but my most vivid memory was the Rangers firm that decided to come into the city to disrupte an a march celebrating some Irish nationalist or other and set themselves up in the pub I was working at on the Royal mile...scary boys....

Zola's just been sacked. Probably inevitable with chairmen like Gold and Sullivan.
Why do I have a sneaking suspicion Hughes will be our new manager?

Avram Grant seems to be the favourite.

Oh, forgot about him. As long as it's not Hoddle who was mentioned a couple of weeks back. I'd prefer Grant to Hughes because one think Zola got us doing was actually playing football. Hughes is like allardyce, too defensive in play whereas Grant could continue what Zola started
