My mate's cousin's Dad knows a guy who listens to The Beatles occasionally, and he says Liverpool's new manager is almost certainly going to be Iain Dowie.
Wayne Rooney could come face-to-face with his former Manchester United team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo in a Gladiators-style contest this summer.
The event, scheduled to take place at London's O2 Arena less than a week after the World Cup final, will feature six of the world's best players going head-to-head to decide who is the most skilful.
Organisers of the A:3K Football event on July 17 confirmed Cesc Fabregas, Steven Gerrard, David Villa and Didier Drogba will appear in the live televised spectacle with Rooney and Ronaldo reportedly set to break their summer holiday schedule to join them.
That would complete a line-up worth £300 million on the show in which the players will face off in a series of challenges devised by consultants including David Beckham to test power, precision, free-kick taking ability, control and attacking prowess.
The Daily Mirror newspaper reported that Rooney would pick up a staggering £500,000 for his night's work on the futuristic set (pictured).
Arsenal midfielder Fabregas said: "It is a very good opportunity to play individually against some of the best players in the world."
Terry Byrne, director of promoters Aura Entertainment, confirmed: "We will see some of the greatest footballers in the world competing in gladiatorial-style challenges to give fans an experience unlike any other."
If you want us to win tomorrow (or at least try) then you'd better hope Bolton get an away win at Spurs today. If Spurs win, it all but mathematically makes it impossible for us to get 4th place (they'll be five points ahead with two still to play). If that happens, I can see Rafa playing the likes of Degen and N'Gog tomorrow. They'll try to win but they're utter rubbish.

Why play Degen and N'gog? What's he saving the others for?

Not a case of saving players but putting out a less than great first team for Chelsea to beat whilst we're at least looking like we're trying to win. Of course Rafa will want to win the game and send our fans home with a victory at our last home game but do you think that Gerrard and Carragher haven't had a quick word in his ear saying it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if we lost? The moment Ferguson sees somebody bottle a challenge or pass the ball to Chelsea he'll go crying to the FA that we threw the game. With our first team he'd have a point but with players like N'Gog, El Zhar and Degen, they're so shite that nobody would bat an eyelid.
Man Utd fans needn't worry though. The refs usually try to make sure they get the best decisions, even in games that don't involve them, plus it would be just typical of us to go out with a half arsed attitude, doing everything possible to lose but still somehow end up winning.
Fantastic stuff. We're playing better than a decidedly nervous looking Chelsea, so Gerrard, noticing everybody else is actually playing to win passes the ball directly to Drogba just to make sure we lose. Hardly subtle but it's getting the job done.
If it was'nt for the fact that your laughing, l'd think your being serious.
Nobody likes, or wants, to lose but when your season's over and has been such a MASSIVE disappointment, being able to help deprive your most hated rivals of the thing they desire the most is as good as it gets. We didn't go out to lose today (well, maybe Gerrard did) but I have to admit I wasn't disappointed when Chelsea scored. Yeah, it might be wrong but at the end of the day it was the only silver lining available.
