lost another 2lbs since last weigh in, taking total loss to 2st 3lbs.
Also started timing myself (against the album I'm listening to), and today I managed to 4km in pretty much 22 minutes exactly. My target is below 21 minutes, so I'm on the way. But still I'm impressed I managed an average speed of 6.77mph.

What app do you use to measure your running ?

I just plot my route using the measuring tool on google maps. And then time myself to the album I have on. And then just work out the average speed from the two.

People are telling me they're noticing I'm losing weight. Slightly smaller dinners, the same small lunch, and riding my bike to the station every day. I got down to 232!

Despite the diet going to shit over the weekend (partially counterbalanced by a 9 mile trek up and down a mountain) I've managed to loose another 2lbs since I last weighed me, so I'm pleased with that.

I am getting a mountain bike for my birthday from the wife, which is excellent news, as I have wanted to get back on one for some time, and have been unable to due to the outright cost of buying one new.

Anyone losing/lost weight due to reduced or completely eliminated carbs? If I don't eat carbs, even where I'm eating a decent amount of protein, I get ravenously hungry, actually physically shaky. Any tips for getting around this?

Did it before for about 3 months.

Eliminating carbs entirely is not a good idea. Not least of all because you cant poo properly. Solve that by eating broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower and those - of which you can basically eat as much as you like.

I wonder do you get so hungry because you've been conditioned to a heavy carb diet for a long time? In which case, just keep going and the shaking and hunger should abate somewhat eventually.

But I never went hungry when doing this myself. Eat brazil nuts, egg-whites, the extremely low fat cottage cheese, no-salt cashew nuts, (tuna, chicken/ turkey breast, etc. if youre a meat-eating savage) if you're really starving between whatever your planned eating is. And the same rule with broccoli and all that applies - eat as much as you like, whenever you like.

I lost weight by simply halving my portion sizes.

Eat more fats like unsalted grass-fed butter/coconut oil with your food, it will fill you up. Your body burns two types of energy for food Carbs and Fat. It prefers Fats.

The theory being that if you're eating a good dose of fats then your body doesnt need to retain the "fat" on its body and will burn it then. Similar to how drinking lots of water pisses out all the bad shit its had stored up.

But what Robit said is true, Broccoli, Spinnach/Dinosaur Kale (Cooked) and other cruciferous vegetables and greens are where you get carbs from to keep the sewage flowing.

If I eat bread or potatoes I just get hungry again an hour later or get bloating which I guess is a slight form of IBS.

I'm eating a modified form of Paleo anyway, in which I have more carbs on Gym days and little to none on no/low exercise days.
