I seem to have hit a rock. I've not been able to get below 16st 5 all month. I did loose a lot of weight unnaturally at the end of last month, so I'm wondering if I'm slowing down until my body catches up. Sounds like nonesense, but makes sense in my head.
I was worried about not doing as much exercise, but I'm still dieting, more so than before as the doctor advised a low fat diet. So I've being trying to stick to stuff with 5g of fat per 100g or less, so I kind of hoped I might still shed a pound or two that way.

Still can't grumble too much, I've still lost over 3 stone in 6 months which I'm happy with.

Bergen-Belsen?

Towards the end Belsen didn't even need chambers - mass outbreaks of disease caused by overcrowding when they shuttled in more from back east did the job for them.

Wikipedia tells me that Bergen-Belsen didn't have chambers at all as the extermination was done at other camps, but on the merit of the last few posts I'll happily accept that you both know more about the details of the Final Solution than I do.

@Anni: Lowering fat content (Even though I know you have to due to illness) doesn't equate with losing weight. It's a callories in vs callories out debate and most of it is quality of callories.

Calculate what you need to be in deficit (Maintainance callories minus 500). Then just get an app on your phone if you have a smartphone (MyFitnessPal is the better one). Add everything you eat to it, and it will calculate if you need more or less.

A lot of it is down to what you eat rather than exercise.

Yeah, I suppose so. I know I've been a bit careless with sugar compared to what I was being before. I've had a few bags of wine gums/jelly babies as a sort of substitute birthday cake and in the cinema and stuff, so that's going to be higher than it was when I was dieting pre hospitalisation. And I'm still eating a lot of potato and pasta, stuff that is fine if it's being burned off as it was, but now I'm not doing the same amount of exercise isn't going to come off the same.

But I suppose I'm not putting it back on which is a positive to take from it.

For some reason after 6-7 weeks of struggling to shift any weight, I've lost 7 1/2lbs in 2 weeks.

Just weighed me, and I'm 14st 13lbs.
But I think the scales I'm using are 6lbs out (got weighed twice at 15.2 over two days the other week on two different sclaes, but weighed 15.8 on these on the third day, plus my brother also seemed to weigh in 6lbs heavier than when he last weighed himself), so I might actually be 14st 7lbs.

But I'm still recording the value on these scales for the sake of calculating total weight loss. So from 19st 7lbs down to 14st 13lbs is 4st 8lbs lost irrespective of what the true value is as the scales are always the same.

Right, now I feel I'm fully healed I'm going to go back to making an effort with exercise and eating better as I did lapse somewhat over Christmas, and in the wake of my operation and it being safe for me to eat food with more than 5% fat per 100g again.

So today I'm 14st 12, let's see how I get on. I think I'd be happy to be sort of in the 13-13.7 range.

I've increased my workouts as I lapsed over Christmas too, changed the food I eat - everything that should be wholemeal is now so and I've increased my eggs, tuna and veg intake. I've also started eating celery instead of cream crackers and now I'm feeling less bloated!

Bloody 'ell Slater. I didn't realise you were trying to lose weight. Good on ya though.

Over the last 2 years I've been gymming. I wanted to bit "fit" by the time I was 30. Despite being hindered by a minor knee dislocation I've kept at it. My problem is portion control really.

It's taken me 2 years to lose 2 stone. Still better than nowt though.

Yeah since last April, first changing what I eat, and then by exercise.
It helped that my gallbladder tried to murder me and I probably threw up a stones worth of vomit, and I think (collectively) a fortnight in hospital on fluids and antibiotics and being fasted for various procedures probably helped too.

Even though I've been eating worse over Christmas I've noticed I can't put away half of what I used to which is probably a good thing. And I think in the last 6 weeks I've only put on 2 pounds which I think isn't that bad given the lack of exercise and volume of fat I'd consumed compared to the 4 months prior.

The pot belly is back on me at mo. Been hammered at work and not really altered my diet back after Xmas so only to be expected. Started back at the gym yesterday on cardio only and am avoiding all snacks at present too. No beer either!
