Black Dragon is one of the best ciders I have ever tasted. Mind you I have never had a bad one from Gwynt Y Ddraig. Who knew the Welsh were so good at making cider?

We drink it in the streets by the flagon full, we're fucking experts bludd.

I can see Dee's chest pumping up with Welsh Pride.

Black Dragon as nice as it is, isn't even Gwynt Y Ddraig best.

Fiery Fox > Black Dragon (though it's like comparing Entombed and Dismembers first albums, (just to give it a bit of metal forum context) both are spiffing)

Didn't get to try Fiery Fox yesterday as my local Wetherspoons didn't have it and they'd run out of Black Dragon. I did try Cornish Orchards Farmhouse Cider - 4 Fists and Bramble Saison - 2 Fists.

That's a shame, I've often been tempted by it on the strength of the Cream Stout. But you're review doesn't bode well.

Just bought a bottle of Trooper from the local Morrisons, because I can't resist a good gimmick. Will drink it later and see if it's as bland as most people seem to think.

Had one of these at the weekend:
Image

It's German smoked beer and is fucking awful! At first there is a chestnut note but then this horrible smoked taste floods your mouth and lingers. I poured the majority of it away! 0 fists.

I also had some steam beer - so called because when it first was brewed ages ago the sound of the air escaping from the cask sounded like steam to the miners drinking it.

This was an improvement with it's vanilla and nutty tones but left an odd after taste. 3 fists.

I got this on the basis of loving the Brooklyn Lager
Image

It was quite strong and lacking in fruit notes for an IPA - 3 fists.

Finally I picked up some wheat beer which is always a bit hit and miss for me but I really enjoyed this one
Image
with it's fruit notes yet smooth texture. 4 fists.

I have recently discovered I like spiced rum, I don't like dark or white rum, or at least I didn't last time I had any of either. This stuff is "spiced dark rum", I want to like it for the kvlt name and bottle:

That Kraken stuff usually has full page ads devoted to it in Metal Hammer. Give it a while and it will be the choice of 'shots dude' for all the metal mongos currently knocking back Jaegermeister.

I have just noticed the reference to "Architeuthis dux" on the label when the illustration is some kind of octopus.

FUCKING TAXONOMICALLY IGNORANT CUNTS.
