The second half of that sentence is certainly true.

"I know, lets make an unending franchise out of what was essentially Point Break for retards"

Why would you even subject yourself to such torture?

Watched The Enigma Of Kaspar Hauser last night, enjoyed it. Based on a true story, a seemingly 'simple' man (16 year old boy, supposedly, though the actor protraying him looked to be in his mid-30s) is abandoned in the middle of a 19th century city, with little explanation of who he is, where he came from or why he's there. Passed the time nicely, as with every Herzog film it's beautifully shot and paced. I swear, Bruno S. (the star) is Crom's dad.

It is a really funny film at times too.

They're quite funny in the background films.

5 and 6 are great as they just become absurd action films by that point. Dwayne Johnson is fucking massive in the last one.

Come on now, this'll be amazeballs!!!

You need more stamina Spiny. The later silly car stunts are entertaining.

I'm just not that much of a car-chasey person.
The odd scene here and there like in Bond/Bourne films, or proper car chases like The French Connection or Ronin then I'm fine. The only "car chase" film I think is truly brilliant is the French original of Taxi.

I'm not either really, but I like the parts that become action stunts rather than the racing bits. As I say, they're entertaining enough on in the background, other than 5 and 6 which is when they become more guns and action based.

I'm not trying to say they're good films or anything, even I don't think that, but they are good fun.

Fast and Furious was always the nu metal of the actions films to me. Was never a fan.

F&TF movies were fucking awful. Movies for people who crack one out over issues of Max Power.

Rec 4: Apocalypse

Although 2007's Rec was a fantastically effective little Spanish horror film, it somehow managed to spawn two of the worst sequels ever. The second one decided to turn the original's very simple premise into some ridiculous claptrap about The Vatican, demonic possession, priests with machine guns, and a Satan worm. The third one, set during a wedding at the same time as the original, was so utterly awful it couldn't even be viewed as a comedy. Something, for reasons best known to themselves, it looked like the film-makers were actually striving for.
That the fourth instalment takes events and plot points from those dreadful films and turns them into something which comes close to being as good as the original deserves an awful lot of credit. Especially when, on top of that, you have to consider they've added angry zombie monkeys into the mix.

After the reporter from the original is discovered seemingly unharmed by a GEO special operations team clearing the building (a great scene which creates a nice feeling of deja vu as it's clearly the same building they used the first time) she is taken aboard a quarantine ship and tested for signs of the virus along with the GEO members who rescued her. A sinister doctor tells her everything is fine, but because he's a sinister doctor you really don't believe him for a moment. Especially when it turns out the ship has got a restricted area which you just know will hide something as equally sinister as the doctor.

Apart from the fact that lead actress Manuela Velasco has noticeably aged since 2007, everything else looks and feels exactly as it should. It's claustrophobic, occasionally funny, and of course, nice and bloody. And although the hideously inferior sequels are referenced occasionally, there's enough covered in the script that you can happily go from the original to this one without ever having to waste your precious time watching either of them ever again.

Wasn't there another sequel set in an airport or on a plane or something? Or was that a sequel to the American remake?

That's a sequel to the US remake, which has nothing to do with the Spanish films and probably doesn't have much to do with the remake.

I've just seen adverts for Rec4 on DVD, I didn't even know it had been released in the cinema...
