This was the apex of televisual comedy, tragically I can't find a good quality English version of the opening.

Third Rock From The Sun doesn't get enough credit.

It lacked a character with the depth of Harry or Alf.

I found Tommy Solomon a complex character.

Bloody hell mate, I know you're trying to be provative but there are limits, you know. Let's not say anything we'll regret.

I regret The Office ever being made, there's shit then there's Megadeth and then there's The Office.

More nuggets of gold from the 80s vault.

I fancy some new comedy. Has there been any decent UK shows in the last 10 years (20 even) that anyone would care to recommend? I don't want to just rewatch Alan Partridge for the 4th time.

I've been watching Father Ted since the last couple of days. Season 2 seems a lot better than season 1 so far.

Inside No.9 started again last night with a reworking of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, in a hotel corridor, spoken in Iambic Pentameter.
Just brilliant.

Good old fashioned British comedy way before the PC brigade banned it all.

Both the league of gentlemen and reeves and Mortimer on over Christmas were great in my opinion.

Due to the missus receiving a Christmas present of the DVDs, I've discovered 'Detectorists'. It's a 'gentle' comedy show based on the carry-on of 2 metal detector enthusiasts and their lives/families/whatever. Written, directed by and starring Mackenzie Crook, along with one of my favourite character actors, Toby Jones. It's probably been mentioned here already but I couldn't be arsed looking through the thread.

Watched a couple of episodes but apart from a couple of laughs here and there, it didn't do much for me.
