Me too. I love classic Gibson and Epiphone V's and Explorers, they certainly do not need silly girly emo graphics.

I want to like flying V's but I just don't feel comfortable with them. My arm doesn't sit right for some reason.

Btw, that MH one looks fucking shit. What a waste!

I find Jackson Rhoads slightly more comfortable than Gibson V's, but I imagine you get used to them after a while.

Weirdly enough, I find the BC Rich style guitars really comfortable to play, which doesn't seem possible when you see a Bich. The build quality seems to vary with them though, and the new ones look shit. Trans purple through string coil tap Warlock? Fuck off. Dirty black pointy headstock Ironbird please.

Me too :D

Like I said, I have a cheap copy (Korean I think, it has a Westone logo on the headstock but is not actually a Westone) and it looks cool enough, like an old Bc Rich with the cloud inlays, one black pickup and one white one, and is actually really comfortable to play, great for fast rhythm stuff especially, it just sounds like garbage, hence changing the bridge pickup. I'd love a real one, but they don't seem to do more straight forward models anymore, 2 humbuckers with a tone and volume, and a two way switch kind of thing. Its all coil tap switches, more knobs than a cooker, bright finishes and weird tuning heads these days. Granted a lot of the 70's models were like that, but I don't need or want all of that stuff.

I tried one out in a shop a couple of years back and it was only a couple of hundred quid, but I just felt it was completely substandard. I think it was a very very cheap model, in that it was the same shape, put it played like crap. I figure it was just a kids model or summat cos it looked cool.

Post Re: The Guitar Thread
They had an entry level series, but it seems poor, I tried a Bich the day I bought my SG, it was ok, but nothing special sound wise, and the build quality wasn't great, although a friend of mine got a Warlock one when we were supposed to start a band years ago and it was quite good. I had just bought a Jackson around the same time actually, fucking raging I got rid of it now, it was one of the cheaper Dinky style models (from Japan I think, maybe Korea) but it was really good. I ended up part exchanging it for a bass, after I was asked to join another band. The guy who bought it ruined it, tried to put in new pickups and did a terrible job. Its still sitting in the local music shop, I doubt anyone will bother with it.

Nowadays yeah, they were better quality at one time though, and the old custom shop models were apparently great when Neal Moser was there. He still builds them to order I think.

looks more like a skateboard than a guitar ;)

don't mind the headstock though, but that's about it.

it would be a cool guitar if you were 15 though haha.

Avril Lavigne > Machine Head

I noticed he was always wearing a t shirt with that heart skull design on it. Is it an official machine Head design or did he just steal it? I hope the cunt gets sued for copyright. I heard the bastard saying that he pioneered b tuning! What the fuck is he on?

I'd like to violate Robb Flynn with an Oxford English dictionary.

Post Re: The Guitar Thread
I've been playing again most days this last week or so. I've nailed the solo from 'The Last Time', but I'm still not quite there with 'Forever Failure', as it's a song which suffers very badly from all of the tabs online being so wrong even I can spot it. I even posted on the tabs forum of the Paradise Lost message board, but the one they came up with there was wrong as well (although better than most). I think I've mostly fixed it (everyone misses the muted sweeps in the pre-solo acoustic bit, but I've figured out where they are) but I'm not quite there with the solo - there are maybe three pull-offs that I can't get sounding quite right. Frustrating.
