Post Ever have a perfect year?
I can think of some good years but I can't think of one that didn't also have something horrible about it.

If you could choose one year of your life to live over and over again when your life is over, can you choose one? Remember, you've got to live all the bad with the good.

Wow, what a remarkably imaginitive thread...well done.

Probably 1990, cos I was in a band doing gigs and having fun, still living at home... plus it was pre-Nirvana and I'd get to hear Impact is Imminent for the first time again and see Queensryche play Mindcrime live again.

1995/6 (a year long stretch around that time) - moved out of home and into a fucking shithole tenement with about 9 other people, but just had fun for the duration. Made some good friends, got away from shitty situations at home, enjoyed myself. Basically the first year student life without the college bit. I haven't had it as good since.

My obvious choice would be when I was 15, as I tried smoking, got stoned, got drunk, got laid, and went out with a smashing girl all within a short period of time, but fuck being a teenager again!!!

Maybe 22, as I was really enjoying uni then, was doing some interesting music, went out with the love of my life and had lots of hopes for the future. Went to Pompeii too.

2005 was pretty good.

Birth of my first daughter.
Liverpool won the Champions League.
Met George Romero and a load of other famous folk that year.
Saw Slayer.

87 was great as far as music goes, and just being carefree and happy (even though fucking Everton won the league) and so were 88 - 91 or so I'd say.

94 was good for getting into mischief, and women.

2011 was a really good year, made a bunch of new friends had lost a lot of weight and had an incredible summer.

It wasnt perfect though. No such thing. Every year has good and bad parts you just tend to remember the bad parts more than the good. I've had a rough few years since discovering I wanted to re-learn to draw and paint. Art certainly seems to help discover yourself.

This year is probably my worst year I've had. Got diagnosed with clinical depression, nearly lost my mojo for drawing and painting with a lack of direction on how to proceed and just getting exhausted at the sheer mammoth of a task of perpetually trying to get better and balance a social life.

On the other hand I think it will build my character in the long run but it's a long slow slog.

I havn't been laid in a while either due to the above circumstances pretty much ruling my life. Should probably sort it but trying to fit the time in to meet and talk to new people is proving difficult.

1984 was great as I discovered Metal in the April of that year.

School was shit, but for the next four years all I seem to remember doing was listening to metal and watching Blackadder, Red Dwarf, and video nasties.
Some other things must have happened but I'm buggered if I can remember any of them,

2006 was pretty good - the shit first half made the second half all the sweeter when it arrived.

2006 was my best year for shows. Venom, Kreator, Sacrifice, Sodom, Celtic Frost, Overkill, Megadeth, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Iron Maiden, Roger Waters, Piledriver, and all my favorite local bands.

I'd love to add the first couple of times I flew to England in 1998.

My first year at university was bloody brilliant. There were some less good bits but making good friends who I've stayed friends with since, having not one but TWO lovely ladies express genuine interest in me (which was the most amazing thing in the world at the time), going to loads of good gigs, exploring an exciting new city and getting the fuck away from all the people I'd known in school, getting pissed as a fart plenty of times and nearly always having fun with it... I liked it so much I've not left university since, although my lifestyle is pretty different these days.
