Post Re: Ever have a perfect year?
I'm a very positive and happy bod, and wouldn't say many years were bad - 2000 being a possible exception - and always made best with what I've got and where I'm at. That said the last 4 years (since giving up dope...coincidence? I think not) have been genuinely great. Meeting Mel, moving in together, Oliver, wedding, honeymoon, new house (new door!), enjoying work and life. Even with this years redundancy, it's still been an enjoyable year and a reinvigorating of career ambitions.

After 9 years of living in a smoke-filled haze of being stoned pretty much every day, the last 4 years have been great. There's a lesson there, kiddies...

One perfect year? I had twelve.
Childhood was pretty good for me.

You lucky bastard!

I did enjoy going to Germany when I was 6. Didn't enjoy getting beat up afterwards though.

The two other trips to Germany were all right, each with a different parent as this was after the divorce. I quite liked the trip with my Dad and our stopover to England on the way there.

Lots of happy memories I can pick out of several years. But can't think of one perfect year that didn't also have something totally crap about it.

All over. My Dad escaped from East so I have relatives on both sides. Visiting the East before the wall came down was a strange experience.
The first thing I noticed was how the boarder guards didn't goo goo over me for being a kid. Most adults were extra nice to kid tourists but these guy treated me with as much suspicion as anybody.
The next thing that stood out is their clothing optional beaches. They're not like special novelty nude beaches. People there literally just go with whatever they feel comfortable with. It's like half the people are nude and the other half aren't and nobody bats an eye about it.
And my third most prominent memory is Fix Und Foxi. As a kid these comic books stood out as did their brand of candy.

Oh and when I went there as an early teen, buying a Playboy was easy. When the lady figured out that I was Canadian she gave me some free candy to go with my magazine.

How awfully tedious that must have been for you.

Well there was this one really hot nude teen girl hanging out with her friends. She was nude and they weren't and I could imagine they probably knew each other from school. My first sight of real life CFNF.
