I'd be so up for that. Maybe next year if I can afford it.

You have to A/B it, with both Irish and English Guiness there at the same time. Nobody has done this, so it remains an an old wives tale.

If I went to Ireland and drank Guinness, I'd be jubilant as I was "on holiday" and in Ireland (Somewhere I've never been before) so of course it would taste nicer than having it in grotty Shoreditch or wherever.

I think I can safely say where ever Guiness is from it would taste rank.

The only time i've ever drunk it was when I was 16, I was in an Irish pub on St Patricks Day and Guiness was on a half price promotion, or something like that, and it was 50p a pint. The next morning after drinking several vile but cheap pints the night before, I matt blacked the toilet and haven't drank it since.

It was a pub run by an Irishman and most of the clientele were Irish, it just happened to be in Camberwell in South London, although I have visited the Emerald Isle albeit in 1969.

All i can remember is we stayed in a house near the sea which was crystal clear, it was my cousins uncles place i think. Fucking lovely place from what i remember and on the way home as we left Belfast a bomb went off, or so i was told, but that is a memory i don't need.

I had a pint of UK Guinness in my local one night, flew to Dublin had several pints in a couple of pubs the following night. I couldn't tell any difference, obviously that's not as good a comparison as having one after the other and perhaps it varies pub to pub but in my experience Guinness seems fairly "standard" it doesn't vary hugely pub to pub, although ale does.

Bet you passed over Wales to get to Ireland.

The dodgy air even at cruising height confounds the senses.

Post Re: Post in this thread if you are drunk
I'm totally fucking arseholed. My last date of the one act festivals, so we went on the tear. Our companions included a pasty faced "rapper" who wouldn't stop his infernal rhyming, a sleazy old man (no, not me) and a guy from Cork who couldn't stop farting, which meant we alienated every woman we came in contact with, not that there was much talent anyway, aside from a sexy posh milf, but by that point I was so drunk I couldn't have gotten it up in a swimming pool full of supermodel fanny.

Only one thing for it then - more beer, double whiskeys, taking the piss out of each other and random strangers, and offensive amounts of southern fried chicken, before going home on a big yellow bus, which for some reason had flashing lights, a disco ball, and The Dubliners playing at ear splitting volume.

Decided that rum was needed to do some electrical work tonight. I'm not fucked over, but I am loose and my light looks great!! Also hung a big ass mirror that I suspect won't look as straight as I think it is in the morning.

I can't imagine how rum could be a bad idea during DIY! Haha.

I hung the curtains in my last flat whilst drunk. I then had to take them down again and put them up the right way round...

It was more fun tottering on the windowsill pissed. Especially when I get vertigo.
