Seriously, only the books ever did it for me. They are incredible. All the films, and everything else associated with them have been crap in my opinion.

I may have mentioned it before but I cannot stand the LOTR books. Monumentally overwritten piffle that takes over 400 pages for something other than walking, eating, or resting to actually happen.
The battle scenes are dull as fuck, with characters spending more time talking to their swords than actually using them.

Whereas I want to throttle Jackson for turning The Hobbit into a sprawling mess of shite and Legolas, where any remaining notion of self restraint or editing skill was left trampled underfoot by an enraged oliphont, I have to tip my cap to him for actually paring down LOTR into something exciting and worthy of its lengthy running time.

The two most recent Hobbit films are the only films I've seen Orlando Bloom in and gone "actually, he's alright". I'm not really sure what the point of the inclusion of Legolas is other than to reel in the LOTR fanship a bit more and yes, that smacks of desperation a bit, but I don't really mind it.

Per ordered new AKB and Nogizaka albums. I suspect this may be nearing the end of my 48 spree, too much stuff purchased last year that i never watched/listened to.

They played that bonus track when I saw them last month. Great song.
