I'm sure that fucking thing will end up as a purchase somewhere along the line, but its lack of new footage pisses me off

It's somewhere between the original and the redux versions, isn't it? Redux was painful to watch. This box has all 3 versions plus Hearts Of Darkness so it'll do me nicely.

Yeah halfway between the two. The shitty French plantation gick is still in there and the extra Playboy Playmates bits are gone. I have the previous box. The only way I will buy this is when I upgrade to 4K

That plantation sequence is torture, if any part of the film needed trimming it was that.

I was looking for the last box when I came across this one, actually. There's a 4K version which I was tempted to get (I'll upgrade eventually) but settled for the BR for now.

Still haven't come across the 5 hour cut commercially, it might have been a cinema-only release.

I don't think it even made it onto the festival circuit. A workmate had a really crap version (split over 2 VHS tapes) that I saw years ago and there was all sorts of shit in it that'd be worth putting back. Willard bayonetting a baby etc.

Yeah. Have had them on a memory stick for ages but they're out of synch

Nice. I've gone a bit overboard with the original trilogy, I think I have 4 versions of each film at this stage, 5 if the Special Edition videos are still around the house. But then, I'm the guy who bought the Holiday Special.

I know the feeling, man. I've no idea how many times I've bought those things over the years. I refused point blank to get the official BD set as I hate the special editions and the poxy prequels.
