Nah, it's crap. Gangland, however, is not.

Leper Messiah is not a 1-2 fist song: It's the worst song on the album, yes, but I'd say it's a 3-fister.

Leper Messiah is, at very worst, a 3 Fist song.

Maiden - Gangland

Nah, Gangland isn't that bad. Invaders, however, is.

It really isn't.

Dog Day Sunrise.
Two Winters Only. That's how long it takes to get through it.

Original or Fear Factory cover? Both are great.

No.

Gangland is forgettable filler. I still find it hard to believe, when choosing what would go on 'Number' and what would be used as a b-side, Gangland made the album and Total Eclipse was left as b-side fodder. At least it was restored on the remaster. Although, if they had left Gangland off entirely it would make for a stronger album overall.

Banned. There isn't a bad song on that album, and I'm quite happy with Total Eclipse's absence. Particularly so when they shoehorned it into the middle of the actual album for the remaster (see also Sanctuary on the debut). It's an OK song but its B-side relegation was fitting.

"Quest For Fire" is always the first track I think of when the 'bad song, great album' question comes up. Just that vocal line to open the track, coupled with the ridiculous lyric - I can only imagine Dickinson in the studio purposefully trying to bollocks it up because the lyrics are so hilarious, only to look back to the control room and see Harris giving him two thumbs up.

Though I really like the chorus. I've belted that out a few times with a clenched fist as I place a foot up on the coffee table.

Have you ever seen the movie? The mammoths are laughable. There's a better one been living on Sesame Street since the late 60s. The lyrics are a bit shit though...

I've never seen the movie - are the lyrics reflective of the movie?

Also, although objectively speaking I know 'Dawn Patrol' is completely superfluous, I actually don't mind it too much. It's under 2 minutes and is a nice break between the unrelenting pace of 'Tornado of Souls' and 'Rust In Peace...Polaris'. Nifty bass line too. Yeah, I know, the vocals are a bit naff, and vocals are probably always going to be a major dividing line with Megadeth, but it doesn't really bother me all that much on this track personally.

Just Another Night on Amber Galactic. It is a bonus track but their own songs are better.

It tells the plot of the movie, but it has no dialogue at all!

Dawn Patrol is the best song on a shit album because it's the shortest of the turds.

I recall (and I don't necessarily agree) that the drum solos ('Moby Dick' and 'Rat Salad') om Zep II and 'Paranoid' tend to be poo pooed by a lot of people as filler.

I can take or leave Moby Dick. But Rat Salad is fine, the drum solo is only a minute long, and it serves as a little respite before the final track.
