Spent some time with it earlier, and I'm really liking it so far. I can't think of a dud track on it. Still early days, though.

Redeemer's problem was the sound. It has some good songs.

The new Priest is very good. Too long, but very good, their best in a while.

Needs a trim most definitely but forgivable as an issue I think. The longevity is questionable but still a really solid effort.

Have had a couple of listens, agree it's a bit too long. The last two tracks are the least interesting I think.
Very impressed overall though.

I originally wrote in my review that there could have been two songs taken out, but that was withdrawn because apart from the instrumental, I really couldn't pick another one to cut. Even the songs which didn't really grab me at first, did after two or three more listens. It's long, but when the quality is that good overall, who cares.

It's the best Priest record since Painkiller - just pips AOR.

That said it's not a patch on the classics. I'd say 3-4 fists

Judas Rising and Hellrider are better than anything on Firepower, esp Judas, but Firepower flows better as an album.

I don't particularly like either of those tracks. I did like Deal With The Devil, though, despite it covering exactly the same shit as Halford's Made In Hell, which was better, IMO...

Given the album another casual listen today and it's definitely got some highlights on it. Not a classic, but solidly in the middle of the pack, I think.

Sea Of Red is fantastic, my favourite track on it.

Definitely the worst track on it for me, the kind of cringeworthy, flagwaving cheesefest that Iced Earth are so proficient at.

Gave it a second listen earlier, enjoyed it more than on the first spin. Very consistent overall.
