Post Re: Arch Enemy UK Tour postponed
This may make me less "true" (see latest issue of the mag) in the eyes of some folks but I still really like Arch Enemy. Sure, "Rise Of The Tyrant" was patchy and the re-recordings of Johan-era material maybe wasn't completely necessary (although as much as some people will lambast me for saying it, I thought Angela Gossow's performances on selected tracks were better than the originals). And their live shows, while still very consistent, can be in danger of being too workmanlike on occasion. But "Wages Of Sin", "Burning Bridges" and "Stigmata" are melodic death masterpieces and even "Anthems Of Rebellion" was good and "Doomsday Machine" had its moments, which makes it impossible for me to hate them.

I applaud you Sir.
The re-recordings were poor, more musically than vocally.
I really did not like the new version of 'Bury Me An Angel'.

Good. Lets hope that November gets cancelled too.

If Sabbat don't do the Wolves gig then I'll be happy with that cancellation.

No love for Enslaved?

I did tell you Sabbat were doing all the shows, Spiny.

I know. I was just being quoted there.
If what I've heard on the Bloodstock forum is correct, Enslaved won't be doing the November shows. Wonder who they'll bring in instead.

lol...are Opeth as big as Arch Enemy now? they must be bigger surely? Albert hall? I remember the first UK tour Opeth did, they brought Arch enemy out with them on support...Arch enemy killed it that night...Opeth were dull as shit afterwards. Arch Enemy got much shitter after that tour too, but Wages of sin was what they were touring for and that album was pretty cool.

The first UK tour Opeth did was with The Blood Divine.

I was one of about 20 people in the crowd.

Ask Was.

The second time Opeth toured the UK was as support for Cradle Of Filth the year after.

They really weren't.
Walking on Phantom Ice was a top album though.
