Post What BM are you currently listening to? Any Recommendations?
There was a thread on the old forum for this which I quite liked, and I think there's a recommendations thread on here, but anyway...

Forteresse: Par Hauts Bois et Vastes Plaines - Awesome canadian ambient BM, well worth checking out: http://www.myspace.com/forteresse

Setherial: Nord (Thank's XES!) - Is this the best Swedish black metal album? I don't know but it's certainly up there!

Burzum: Fallen, need say no more

Blut Aus Nord: Memoria Vetusta II: Dialogue with the Stars, still can't stop listening to this

Moonsorrow and Fen mainly, think both are amazing

Like Richie and DDD been having a bit of a Cradle reminisce the last week or so too, and last night had a mini-Enslaved old-school attack with a bit of Eld and a bit of Frost

Played the new Burzum a few times too and think it's decent too

I've been listening to the 'I' album of late, mainly because I keep forgetting to take out nof the car and the missus has vetoed my other musical choices when we're going anywhere. I'm going to sneak the Absu album in when she's not looking though.

Other than revisiting Cradle the only BM I've listened to ages has been Deathspell Omega, still haven't got the new one.

Discovered this band Darkthrone recently, they're pretty good. Dunno how accessible their music is cause I got it off this pretty obscure blog but they've got visible punk influences, it's good stuff.

You should try the band that ANUS.com have told people in hushed tones as to keep them tr00 - Cradle of Filth or something, I can't remember exactly...

I've been trying hard with this WOE release. It's good for sure but I can't help but feel I'm missing something.

I really like that Woe album. Enjoyable stuff, though it took me a while to appreciate it. Best time I found was when I was totally lacking of energy and burnt out after a gym workout and put it on as a kind of more relaxed thing for walking to after all the HATE/Beatdown stuff I listen at the gym.

I still haven't managed to get into 1349, I must give them another go considering the praise they've had for their recent outputs.

Indeed. 8-) Really good stuff on that. 4 fists clutching glowing coals from the hearth.

I like the latest Horned Almighty (Necro Spirituals). Not total black metal (other influences mixed in, namely some death and thrash metal) but the genre has become large enough to call a lot of stuff bm.

The new BAN album 777 Sekt is their best one since The Work Which Transforms God, IMHO...more concise and featuring actul riffs for a change. As with XIII most of the albums i have heard have been of the atmospheric BM type, Fen, Alcest, Lantlos, Moonsorrow etc. Some other new ones worth checking out: Helheim, Kromlek, Kampfar, Vintersorg, Kälter (love this album!), Void, Virus (cracking new album!), Dornenreich (superb atmospheric BM), Saeculum Obscurum, Vreid, Helrunar (another great one, double album), Iskald, Falkenbach (top notch pagan BM), Neige et Noirceur....

Didn't like the new Burzum, and the new Liturgy gave me a headache by the first song and i deleted it! Oh, and i can't believe you only just checked out 'Nord'! Of the rest of the Setherial albums, 'Lords of the Nightrealm' is worth checking out, and i quite enjoyed the album from last year 'Ekpyrosis'.
I assume as Swedish BM bands go you have the Dawn albums, if you missed it the Unanimated comeback 'In the light of Darkness' was one of my AOTY in 2009, their best one yet and superb! Worth getting the Sacramentum discog, and try Vinterland too...
