As far as instrumental bands go, the mighty, Man Or Astroman? have to get a mention.

...and Ireland's own Adebisi Shank...

...and Estel are both pretty darn groovy.

I didn't like that EP but I'm told they're amazing live. There's another band from the North along similar lines, saw them in Galway a coupla years ago and they blew me away. Can't remember their name, annoyingly.

90% of what Buckethead has done...

Erm, but from a metal standpoint where lyrics are the norm then of the top of my head;

Death - Voice of the Soul.
Dream Theater - Hells Kitchen
Iron Maiden - Transylvania
Led Zep - Moby Dick
Rush - La Villa Strangiato

No lyrics as such, just vocalisation/noises. Does this count?

The Tin Whistle. Hands down. :-D

I like the Flute, but I couldn't play it. I'd also love to be able to not have short fat hands so I could play guitar.

Urgh I've always hated that track, it sounds like a cheesy arrangement of Spancil Hill. A video for the non Irish folk...
