It was shopped around as a three song demo, but if you have a look at the YouTube video, there was also the rest of an album recorded, albeit in a very rough state.

Creedle (not Creed)

Their 'Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars' album - what the hell IS this? From a base of '94-vintage post-Nirvana grunge/punk they spiral off into an incredibly long, dense, bewildering record that is virtually impossible to pin down as either fully serious or honestly unserious, underpinned by a barrage of spoken samples that quite frankly I don't want to know from whence they came. Alas, the follow-up record 'Where The Wind Blows' isn't as good, separating out the strands of Zorn-style jazz, garage punk and Ween/Frogs creepy novelties where the predecessor record joyously mixed them all up.

Some bands I've been (re)discovering lately...

Argentum from Mexico - some uber kvlt black/doom metal with raspy vocals, lots of keys, hypnotic riffs and fantastic guitar leads. The production of the album I've tried is pretty poor, but it doesn't bother me too much. Musically I have no idea what to compare them to as they sound pretty unique. Perhaps Tiamat's The Astral Sleep is an comparison but this band sounds much darker.

Adramelch from Italy - Been spinning their debut lately and while the sound is poor, the music is really one-hell-of-a-kind prog/power with very unusual guitarwork.

Argentum's debut is really good, but the follow up isn't too hot. Glad I kept their debut though. I bought it directly from Full Moon in late 96/early 97.

Been listening to Obsecration's The Inheritors of Pain lately. It's got a ''gothic'' sounding atmosphere for a death metal album but some of the more ''static'' riffing here and there reminds me of early Greek BM bands, too. Pretty cool stuff.

Rotting Christ:

I've just been watching their set from Bloodstock 2016, on the tube of U, and they are pretty good. I must admit they have always passed me by, but it sounds like they are worthy of further investigation. Which albums should I be checking out?

It depends who you ask, personally thy mighty contract and non Serbian are my favourite but that's more classic Greek BM sound, for the later sound triarchy of lost lovers and a dead poem are great, but more death metal.

What? As far as I know, the band never played death metal. I'm aware people consider those albums to be gothic metal instead.

I've been rediscovering some stuff lately.

Kataklysm - I guess I didn't ''get'' their debut earlier but since I've been spinning again, I've been liking it more and more. As chaotic and complex as it sounds at first, there are actually some odd melodic riffs to be heard on it even though the crazy vocals steal the spotlight pretty much.

Utumno - Their EP is some solid slab of early Swedish death metal. Not quite as heavy as Entombed and Dismember but definitely has that early Swedish trademark sound.

Sadistic Intent - One of those early death metal bands from the US. I've wanted to check them out for a long time and I'm glad that I'm finally did. Think of a more evil and doom-y version of early Morbid Angel and you're not far off.

I was obsessed with Kataklysm in 95 and 96. They got off to a great start. Their first e.p was actually their demo and it sounds amazing for a demo. Shame they went downhill relatively quickly.

Thanks for the suggestions re: Rotting Christ.

I've listened to a few samples and I must say I prefer the later stuff, particularly Katá ton Daímona Eautoú. I'm sure this is heresy for long-term RC fans, but I've never been a huge fan of lo-fi black metal.
