Not bad. Certainly more original than Vallenfyre at least.

Could be worth to download. I bet Tragic_Idol is tripping over this time (how come he didn't announce this though?!). I suppose it won't take long before we hear a ''PL are in the studio this time our music will be HEAVIER!'' report.

Re: The Paradise Lost Merry-Go-Round thread
I'd only be interested in reading the section that addresses their 'wilderness' period from 1997-2003, or from 1997-2005, depending on your perspective, and maybe the section about Draconian Times.
Overall, PL are not very interesting guys, but their career arc is rather unusual, especially for a metal band.

I suppose certain rumors could be fun to read.
Certain fans believed Nick Holmes started to sound worse once he had his nose job!

Re: The Paradise Lost Merry-Go-Round thread
So according to this interview the new Paradise Lost will probably be out in spring. Some songs will pick up where Medusa left off - but some songs will also have a 80's gothic rock vibe to it. Overall Greg describes it as a varied and eclectic album. I just hope it won't be as varied as The Plague Within - that album seriously sounded like a band in search for identity again.
Greg talks about the upcoming record during the last few minutes of the interview.

Here's some more info if anyone cares:
A Paradise Lost fan shared an interview that he found and Greg had the following things to say about the new record:
A lot of people will be expecting something like an extension to Medusa - it's not like that at all, really. There are heavy parts, but it's a very elaborate record for us. There's some goth-type stuff, some ballad moments, and lots of acoustic instruments, which will surprise some people. It's grandiose and cinematic in ways, just not with strings or keyboards - it's all to do with layers.

Re: The Paradise Lost Merry-Go-Round thread
The sixteenth PARADISE LOST studio album, "Obsidian" eschews its immediate predecessors’ gruesome, myopic approach in favour of a richer and more dynamic deluge of black shades. From the deceptive elegance and dual atmospheres of opener 'Darker Thoughts' through to the crushing, baroque doom of war-torn closer 'Ravenghast'; "Obsidian" reveals a band in masterful control of a broad array of vital ideas. Most noticeably, the record boasts several songs that draw heavily from the much-loved, Kohl-encrusted days of ‘80s gothic rock: in particular, newly-minted PARADISE LOST anthem 'Ghosts' is a guaranteed dancefloor-filler at any discerning goth nightclub.
"It's one of the most eclectic albums we have done in some time, we have miserable songs, sad songs ,slow songs and faster songs. Did I mention miserable?" - Nick Holmes.
More info to follow... In the meantime enjoy this small teaser...
1. Darker Thoughts 2. Fall From Grace 3. Ghosts 4. The Devil Embraced 5. Forsaken 6. Serenity 7. Ending Days 8. Hope Dies Young 9. Ravenghast
The song titles kinda suck, but oh well.
Should be exciting - hope they won't do something as varied as TPW though.

That is so funny because on YT IESF was slowed down & sounded like PL! But there are some GREAT songs on that album better listened to on PLOVDIV. Love both though! Even some J-Rock on Cry Out.

J-rock? Jew Rock?
I'm surprised Tragic_Idol hasn't posted here anymore. You'd think he would bring us this news.

It is only 12 seconds, but it sounds bad. Why would the label showcase that? Hah.
