Post Type O Negative

These 2 songs of Type O Negative, wich i like very much!
As said before for me they - average band, BUT their
Dead Again, Bloody Kisses and October Rust - very good albums.

In all other points this band not my cup of tea. Anyway, RIP Peter Steele.
Also, Wretch inspired me to create this topic. This is for you, lad :)

As I mentioned elsewhere, the digipak version of Bloody Kisses (no comedy tracks/skits, but with a bonus track) is all I'm bothered about. The previous album(s) are rubbish and the subsequent albums are repetition.

I never really liked the band, but I used to like reading interviews with them, especially Steele, as they were very entertaining. I liked Steele's sense of humour especially.

Why don't you like 'Dead Again' album? They really not repeat themself on the last studio album but made new good music.

All the post-BK albums just blur into one uninteresting mess for me, I'm afraid. I think Everything Dies and I Don't Wanna Be Me are the only songs from then that I like.

'Christian Woman' and October Rust were good. Otherwise they were almost completely forgettable.

Yeah the last album was doom, pure and simple. Great unusual one-off sort of band, I didn't go a bundle on Life Is Killing Me but the rest had plenty of fun to offer.

I still think 'October Rust' is great, and 'Slow Deep And Hard' is a fun though problematic novelty-or-actually-maybe-not album which comes on like GWAR rewritten by Patrick Bateman.

Their other stuff is patchy. Partly it was because of their tendency towards molasses-slow turgidity, partly it was down to Steele seemingly constantly changing his mind, sometimes almost in mid-song, as to exactly how seriously he wanted to be taken.

In terms of, er, 'gothic metal', they were massively preferable to almost anyone else. Now there's damning with faint praise.

I bought the digipack version when I was 16 or so, it's probably the album I most listened too as a teenager. Still love it. Not really keen on any of their other albums. They're alright, but I agree, Bloody Kisses is the best. Suspended in Dusk is an outstanding song.

edit: no, actually Manowar's Kings of Metal is the one I most listened back then. BK is a close second :D

October Rust is definitely their best. It's so frustrating - that album showed how brilliant they could be when they felt like it ('Love You to Death', 'Haunted' and 'Wolf Moon' are all awesome songs), but after that it just seemed like they stopped bothering.

Yeah, this. He aleays had a self-awareness and wit beyond what you normally found in mainstream Metal, but I could never really understand the appeal of the music. I thought October Rust in particular was painfully overrated by Tez.

Fantastic pop music with heavy guitars, chorus FX on EVERYTHING (I bet even the drums, for what it would be worth), and filth.. great.

Painkiller, pop element makes you thinks so? partly i feel the same about 'October Rust', thats why i prefer 'Dead Again' anytime
