A few of live videos (including that) have turned up on Rockbox lately, for those interested.

Di'Anno doesn't have cancer - just an abscess. But he got kicked out of his own band anyway...

tenuous link but the above airship is partly funded by Bruce and the story mentions R101 which is of course the subject of the epic song ending the last Maiden album...

I can see Phil Mogg getting ideas.

Bruce sounds like shit here:

^^Blood Brothers is not particularly dynamic vocally and he still can't quite nail it.

His Wacken performance seemed to be pretty much the same as when I saw him at Download. Very good for the most part, with occasional moments of brilliance, but quite often had trouble keeping his voice from cracking. The most important thing for me though was that he was clearly having fun up there, and not just going through the motions.

Went to get a ticket for Maiden and they were all sold out. Don't actually care, there was a time when that would have reduced me to tears and put me in a depression.

I got stuck with a seated ticket (fuck you, online-only system) but I'll make my way down somehow.

I didn't get Madien tickets, can't justify £145 for two ticket,.,fuck. That.

Post subject:  Re: The Iron Maiden thread

The cost of them is definitely helping me not care less about it.

Seated tickets for Glasgow were still available as of this afternoon - SSE Hydro seats are actually quite ok if I remember correctly. Am hugely annoyed though that the tickets are completely paperless ones which cannot be transferred *at all*. Pish support act as well I think?

Shinedown, never heard of them.

Yeah, electronic ticket, you show ID and they swipe your card at the door, apparently.

Post subject:  Re: The Iron Maiden thread

Shinedown are a pretty dull mainstream rock band, but they were quite popular between 2003-2008 and still have a decent sized following.

I couldn't see you liking them Sol, and they are a pretty shitty choice to support Maiden too.

Thanks to a mate who's in the fan club, I got a nice little message on Monday morning telling me I'd got standing tickets for Nottingham and Birmingham.
Which was nice.

I saw Shinedown at Download and they were the worst kind of generic, faceless arena rock where everything blends together into one excruciatingly long and forgettable song.
Sort of like Nickelback but without the personality.

Nickelback are no personality
