Check out the opening section of this NWOBHM song from 1983 & tell me it's not the same riff from Metallica's "For Whom The Bell Tolls" from 1984:

Metallica robbed fucking everything. Seek And Destroy is basically Diamond Head's Sucking My Love

"Seek & Destroy" also borrows from Judas Priest's "Victim Of Changes" at times.

I was listening to Stryper at work the other day, when I came across a very familiar riff.

An easy riff to come up with in fairness. Both are shite.

I would have to agree. Pretty awful riff in general.

STP also ripped off that riff. I think KISS also had s song with that riff as well.

STP used it for Sex Type Thing, but they used full chords so it doesn't sound quite as blatant as Danzig.

It's not available yet, but on the new Arch Enemy album, Amott lifts one of the pieces of music from Giorgio Moroder's Scarface score, and All Night Long by Rainbow. It's not even subtle. Just like the melody to Ultravox's Dancing with Tears in my Eyes appearing on their last album.
