Di'Anno and his revisionist historianism again. "Oh I was into paank". No you weren't, you lying cunt.

You think he's lying about being into punk, despite the fact that it was obviously always an influence on his voice and look? You think he's pretending that he started out singing for a punk band called The Paedophiles to look 'cool'? You doubt that an obnoxious, belligerent 19-year-old substance abuser living in East London would have enjoyed going to punk gigs circa 1977?

Ha, I've often thought that this is the definite punk name. So much for Shane MacGowan famous being in a band called the Nipple Erectors, as if that was super edgy, and Siouxsie wearing swastika armbands - call yourself The Paedophiles, see how popular that makes your gigs. Glad to discover there actually was a band called that, although I'm surpised to find it was Paul diAnno of all people.

We had a pervy English lecturer who always sued to talk about sex and would make inappropriate comments to the female students. He would mention that he thought that paedophile was a phonetically pleasing word and it was a shame that it was associated with child abuse and he wanted to start a band called The Paedophiles. He used to organise his own Jazz festival too.

Nattefrost was in a band called The Childmolesters at one point, but that is less of a surprise.

Still love ol Bruce but he does seem a bit of a tosser, like you can see Steve and Dave cringing when he opens his mouth and starts ranting absolute pish.

One of my lecturers once said, "Of course we all know children are sexually appealing, that's why we don't kill them." It was in the context of talking about Freud or something and no-one batted an eyelid, but when we all left the lecture theatre we all sort of realised at once that that was quite an odd thing to have said... Still, he's full of them - he also declared "all dogs are fascists."

A substantial part of the themes and arrangement of the song "Bombay Calling" was used by Deep Purple as the basis for their song "Child in Time""

A lot of that album has riffs and melodies lifted from other records, Blackmore has admitted as much. But no more so than early Zep or whomever, so its not an issue for me really.

I've no problem at all with riffs being nicked and re-used. I do like to know it though. I did feel a bit let down to hear how much had been lifted for CiT.
